It all started last Thursday when I wanted to simply send my mom flowers ahead of Mother's Day's delivery rush. I had scheduled delivery 2 weeks prior and so when I chatted with her last Thursday around 12 noon and she said nothing regarding the flowers, and yet I had gotten a delivery confirmation from the florist since 10am, I decided to reach out to the florist.

Before I could reach the florist, she called back to say that the flowers were left at the front door which means the delivery person never rang the door bell since she had been home all morning. She also went on to say that there were ants all over the vase and could not believe that the delivery person could be so careless.

Since I've used this company before, I was quite surprise by this. Well, I took the next obvious step and reached out to the online flower retailer.

The representative looked up the order and could not believe that they had left the flowers without making an attempt to call the recipient first. She handled the matter very promptly and reassured me that there would be another delivery on the same day through another local florist. In addition, she offered a $40 credit for this inconvenience. She asked if she could reach my mom to apologize and so I called my mom and conference her in. So, I was pleased that this matter was handled and brought to closure.

Well - guess what? The second delivery never went through. Fortunately, my mom called on Saturday to inform me that she never received the replacement. I then reached out to the retailer and again they apologized profusely and reassured me that they weren't sure what could have gone wrong but they would for sure get it delivered by Tuesday - really 5 days later - totally disappointed. Due to the Mother's Day holiday rush, they could no longer deliver before Sunday. I got the confirmation number and told her that I would call back after Tuesday to discuss this issue with a manager.

It is now Tuesday - mom called to say that she received the flowers and that this time the bell was rung. She was content with the delivery.

It is now mid-day on Tuesday - mom called again. She has received a bigger arrangement of flowers - yes, with the same message that it was from us. She was so ecstatic and was pleased to have all these arrangements on her living room table. Was it sent in error? I don't know. I know for sure that she was a happy recipient and that made my day.

A happy mom makes a happier home! My dad is being blessed by this happy woman walking around the house admiring her arrangements.

Thanks for reading this post! Many thanks for being part of my journey!
