Difficult events in life
In between discovering WA and having a pretty full week working, reading the lessons at night etc have had to take a week out to spend some time with my big sister who has had a health scare. I have flown over to the other side of Australia to be with her and help her through a difficult time.
It is at times like these I curse distance - I know with all our technology we are connected more than ever before, but that just does not feel enough when you just need to be physically with someone.
This has made me more determined than ever to work hard and not give up.
My sister is an amazing inspiration to me as a successful artist (this talent seemed to stop with her and never made it to me!) This episode has taught us that you never know what is going to come your way.
When questioned - people near the end of their life say - they do not regret the things they did do but they regret the things that they didnt do.
I , for one, do not want to be one of those people.
This has been an unexpected subject for my first blog - but life is full of ups and downs and we are very optimistic about the future.
Since arriving on Friday morning we have spent the time so far laughing, cooking, talking and generally hanging out (we really should have done this more often)
Time to prioritise what is really meaningful and important to me in life.
Have a productive week, good health and luck to all the WA community - it is truly comforting to see so many people helping each other.

Deb, just want you too know that prayers are going up for your sister, as well as for you:). I'm so glad that you are able to be with her. There's nothing more precious than family:)
Blessings:)

You say it so well: "Time to prioritise what is really meaningful and important". Online stuff is very important, yes, but the most important thing is the love we can give.
heads up and I hope your sister will be well very soon!

Laughs and hugs are the best gifts you could have given your sister Deb that and the fact you took the time to fly over to her. I hope her health scare is just that and going on its way. I would love to see some of your sister's artwork. Does she have a website at all?
If not you will have to help her out with that one!!!
Andi.
Hi Andi
Yes it was lovely to catch up and spend quality time with her.
She is on the mend now after having surgery and will need ongoing treatment for a while but outlook is good.
If you google Cherie Lidbury artist you will get a selection of some of the sites she promotes from.
Thanks Andi hope all is well with you
