First affiliate sell in 24 hrs? Of distractions and my 3 months at Wealthy Affiliate

Guys, is it just me or is the internet flooded with so many distracting promises. For some reason, all these ads about affiliate marketing keep popping up in my news feed. They all have one thing in common. How to make money online the easy way, each one promising to give an easier way than the other. Well, I have been distracted.

3 Months, distractions, no sale

And just like that, it's been 3 months since I started this venture here in WA. I am thankful that this was the first time I was trying my hand at online business and I landed in the right place. Why do I say that yet I have made no money yet? I am a little disappointed to be honest, not at WA though, at myself.

I had thought that by the 3rd month I would have made at least one sale on my site. But you remember what I said about being distracted. Distractions are no good for any venture. I just realized that I am a very impatient person and quite restless for that matter. So instead of focusing on my training here in WA, I drifted off and started checking out all these bloggers that promised affiliate sales in less than 24 hours. Big mistake my friends.

Making an affiliate sale in 24 hrs?

Let me tell you the thing that most of those bloggers will tell you- buy a book about making an affiliate sale in 24hrs, then promote the book on Pinterest, someone is going to buy the book and voila, your first affiliate sale in 24 hrs. Baam!

It is laughable guys, but guess what? There is a whole lot of people out there promoting this. I have wasted so much time signing up for people's email lists to find the secret when I had the secret all along and did not realize it.

In all my distractions, I forgot the amount of resources available to me right here at Wealthy Affiliate. I forgot about the live chat and the sitecomments and sitefeedback. What was I thinking?

Getting back on track

Anyways, I am back. Can you believe that within just one week when I finally decided to get rid of all the distractions I realized that all those questions I was googling out there could be answered in a second in the Live Chat! It is amazing.

So here is the deal, after participating in a comment thread for just 1 day, my SiteTrust improved by 10%. So yes, I haven't made any sales yet. But it is not because I implemented all that was taught at WA and failed. Heck, I haven't even scratched the surface on the wealth of information here. It is because I was too distracted to realize that I wasn't utilizing the resources available to me.

I am committing fully to the system, no more distractions. I need to complete the training as well as take part in the community actively. The next 3 months are going to be better than the last. I have been a little discouraged but I am not the type to stay down so I am rising again. So glad for the support in the WA family.

And I am so glad that I can just come over here and air my rumblings and be sure that someone in the community will read it. I love WA, a little more now that I've been out there and gotten disappointed.

I am back (I didn't really go away- I was just distracted)
