Time Tracking as Motivation

Does anyone else track the time they spend on affiliate marketing and with WA? I know I do and it is a great motivational tool to keep me focused on the prize.

When we all first joined WA, we were asked our financial goals and how much time we can devote per week in order to achieve those goals. I've seen many respond with "as much as it takes" or something similar. I'll be the first to admit that I really didn't give it a lot of thought before I first responding to that question myself.

Shortly after I got into WA training, I did quantify my goals much more thoroughly with what I expect to achieve in three months, six months, one year, etc. I also set a goal for my minimum hours per week of working on affiliate marketing, whether it be training here, content building, researching topics, responding to emails and questions, writing this blog, etc.

So to make sure I stick to my goals and stay on track, I developed an excel file in which I track my time slots of working on this each day. It really does help me to stay motivated to reach my weekly hours goals.

Perhaps this is something that Kyle and Carson could consider for future development within this program. A built-in time clock if you will that we could click on when we start working each day and "clock out" when we go for a break or to accomplish other tasks.

At any rate, I just wanted to share this as I believe it might help others out there who are struggling to stay on track with their goals.

I started out tracking my time. Then I got wrapped up in everything here and find I work on the same hours every day, except on the weekends. I'm just naturally going over the tie I had committed myself to and when something like a migraine waylays me I make it up on the weekends.

That is the way to go. Thank you for the post.

I so agree! WA can take a lot of time and it is best to set goals for each area and time I wish to spend doing that task. It is so easy to get bogged down and not get anything accomplished.

Thank you for your insight!

I think the time clock would be great!

Thanks for making me remember why i joyend

Thanks for sharing.

A built-in time clock is an excellent idea. Jay

I'll review posts and comments 1st thing, then get onto site work and SEO, whatever other admin stuff I need to do. Then I'll go back to posts and comments, and repeat. So kind of like Mike mentioned, it's typically 2-hour blocks.

I divide the day into 2 hr. segments David

I always try to get what ever I am going to do in the morning done first before I get on here because I know once I get on I will be on for rest of day. Although I really do need to get a time frame with each stuff I do done because I bounce all over the ok a e and never fully accomplish anything. That excel idea is great.
