Day 22: Relearning How to Make an About Page

I want to try something new in my WA blog.

I'll be using it to write out my learnings in the WA platform.

The goal is to try to learn actively without simply consuming stuff in a passive way.

In the past, I used to cram on WA trainings with no guarantee that I'll retain the information. By trying out this format, will that improve my learning?

Guess it's time to give it a shot.

About Page: Based On Training & My Interpretation

The first subject for practice is on building an about page.

For my choice of training (input), I watched Jay's training on Building a Convincing About Page.

What I learned from there, I could summarize in the following points:

• Telling stories
• Connecting and relating with readers
• The What-Who-Why-How-When
• Building up to who I am today
• Providing call-to-action
• Sending people to your About page

However, I can't say with confidence that I'm already an expert in my chosen niche. I would say that I'm just slightly ahead of the majority. And that I'm still learning and growing in my expertise.

Is that okay to tell in my About page?

Luckily, I remember I got help from the AI Article Designer to give me ideas to write in my About page, although not all of them are good.

At present time, I don't have a CTA to send people to, so it may have to wait until I can come up with one. As an affiliate marketer, maybe an optin form to an email list would work. Or some special page where I could provide value already like a resource page?

Ultimately, what needs to be done is to get myself some "clarity" on the direction of my niche blog. I admit I have NOT thought of this sooner because I'm too caught up with the daily activities and I'm still adjusting upon my return to Wealthy Affiliate.

Which reminds me of the goal I've set in Day 13, where the ultimate goal is to grow my niche site and be able to teach my referrals how to create one. First milestone it has to reach would be to earn enough commissions to cover my costs.

My Activity & Action Plan

All the stuff I'm thinking right now may be too much to handle when I can simply just focus on the next achievable step. But I can't continue without getting clarity on my niche site first.

So I'm going to work on that first.

The goal would be interesting - this means it's time for my business and niche activities to interact with one another.

What can I do in my niche to fuel my business? What part of my business would help me grow in my niche?

After gaining clarity (somehow), the task is to complete the remaining essential pages of my website, such as the About page and the Affiliate Disclosure page.

Now for my activity in business, I spent 75 minutes attending to the training and attempting to organize my About page draft.

I'm trying to figure out where to write my About page, whether in SiteContent or through the Wordpress editor. I realized that the About page draft doesn't show up in Wordpress.

In my niche, I spent 10 minutes simply to continue my budding habit.

But that would probably change (hopefully increase) as I gain clarity with my niche website's direction.

Anyway, I'm done with today's update.
