Why Even Ask?

I recently ask a question about some issue i was having with one of my sites and the responses I received were, let's just say, were less than helpful. Let's call them for what they were... ignorant!

I stated that I use my cellphone to build my website(s). And the question that SHOULD HAVE been asked is WHY. Well, maybe because THAT'S ALL I HAVE and can afford during this terrible season that I'm in. One where can't work a normal J.O.B. because i suffer from trigeminal and occipital neuralgia. (Look it up) considered the perfect storm of headaches - even called the suicide headache.

Suffering DAILY for 12 years has put a strain on my finances. Not once asking for a penny from our lovely government- even though I'm more entitled to it than many others!.

Where am I going with this?

Don't EVER tell me that you can't do something when every single indicator says that I can.

So, can i build websites from my phone? I don't know... Did we send people to the moon with less powerful computers? Can I have a face to face conversation with a person half way across the world with my cellphone? He'll, I wonder what happens if I ask my cellphone if I can build websites with my cellphone, what the answer would be? Hmmmmm.

So, back on topic, if I was instructed by one of the WA execs to put my question out to the community, one would think that it would be well-received! Nope! What i got instead was a couple of "people" Who's "helper ranking" are in the top 10, shunning me for not using a lap-top or a computer (look at my reasons that I can't just went over).

You 2 really gave WA a black eye. In my humble and honest opinion. I can now see why It's no wonder people shy away from WA. - I would too if the "highly ranked" helpers were so rude!

Instead, yall should have been curious and ask pertinent questions. Figure out solutions (which, by the way, I figured out on my own with a bunch of research and testing)

My problem, and experience, is when you post a problem to a community all you get is the blind leading the blind responses. no expertise. no customer service. just vague selfish responses.

So what's going to happen next (after this post)

Well, the 2 people with the useless input will try to justify their comments. Such is pride.

The WA exec will most likely take down my post - because, Hey, no one likes negativity.

I'll probably be reprimanded for writing such a terrible post. Or. Even kicked off of WA for stating my thoughts.

But it's all good.. The funny thing about technology (even on a cellphone) is that you CAN build websites quickly, leverage socials, forums and press releases easily and often.

REGARDLESS of the less than helpful-helpers, I'm thriving, my website, pages and posts are ranking and soon.. I'll be monetized.

Moral of my less than wonderful request for help from the community... trust the comments with a grain of salt. and If you must use someone's response, trust but verify.

LASTLY, suggestion time! let's make the helpers ranking a little bit more realistic ... there should be a helpful, not helpful rater tool that the community should have. then, let's see how thing shake out.

I’m so sorry you didn’t get the help you needed. I’ve been helped so many times by great community members during the almost 11 years I’ve been a member. As for creating with your phone—I say you are awesome! I have a lot of trouble with one finger typing. I make lots of typos. And doing that while in pain-no way. I wish you well on your Affiliate marketing journey. -Shirley.

Hi Dewayne,

Thanks for sharing this, and I know how frustrating it can be when you are in a tough spot, asking for help, and what you get back feels dismissive or out of touch with your reality.

The truth is, a lot of people come into this space hoping to build a business instantly from their phone. That expectation has created a bit of friction in the community, especially with folks who have been in the trenches for years, understand what it really takes, and have worked through the grind of building something sustainable. S

o when someone says “I’m building from my phone,” there can be a knee-jerk reaction...often not from a place of judgment, but from their own experience of hitting walls and learning the hard way what’s possible and what’s not ideal.

That said, it does not justify people being rude or making assumptions without asking why. You are right, context matters, and your situation definitely deserves understanding, not judgment.

You are clearly resourceful and determined, and the fact that you did figure things out shows that. That kind of resilience is what builds real businesses.

We always aim to make the platform a place where people can feel supported, no matter their device, budget, or background. If you need help with anything moving forward, or want to connect directly, feel free to reach out to me. ;)
