Not afraid!

Hello Friends,
I've been teaching in bilingual education for 22 years now. I've taught middle school for seven years in New York City, and the last 15 years have been in the second and first grade in Connecticut.
Many believe that teaching two languages at the same time will only hinder children. THIS IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE!
I see students daily reading, writing, speaking and listening in both Spanish and English! The new common core asks teachers to provide students with RIGOR! If learning two languages at once isn't rigor, then I don't know what is !!!
God bless,
Damaris

I don't understand how anyone could believe teaching two languages at the same time would hinder children. Children have amazing learning capabilities.
Thanks Glen!
My thoughts exactly but there are people who believe children get confused!
