Drifting.
Many months ago I joined the Wealthy Affiliate community. I had this vision of creating an eCommerce site that would be launch me into financial freedom. I still believe in this possibility, however, my situation has changed and I have drifted from the WA resource. I am now a full time stay at home dad. This is great!! Except for the fact that now I have no time to work towards financial goals which I need to do because paycheck to paycheck is LAME!
So for the last few months I've been working on the eCommerce site. Found a dropshipper with products I can get behind. Developed a website. Uploaded and started the maintenance of the products. Then I had two revelations...1) the rates the dropshipper charges seem way too high and as a consumer I do not believe I would purchase there and 2) having 900 something products to try and push is a nearly impossible task for one person with virtually no time.
After a call with a friend last night I realized that I need to change my focus to something more immediate even if the returns aren't as significant. Affiliate Marketing. Find a more narrowed focus and push a much smaller product offering. I know WA has their affiliate program, but I haven't been successful yet so I feel like it would be fraudulent. So what other affiliate successes are out there? I've heard a lot about Clickbank and some other affiliates like ClickSure, Amazon, and CJ. But I want to speak to someone who has (and is still having) success. Thoughts? Hints? Lessons? Otherwise?

I don't think you need to be successful first before you can promote WA.
I made my first sale 25 days after joining..
I have an MMO site where I actively promote WA but i have a guitar niche website where I made a landing page promoting WA and I got referrals from there too.
I just titled it make money by sharing information about guitars. By the way in my experience WA banners do not work that great.

Thanks for your advice. I'm curious to learn more about the banners and how they have worked for other people. If they aren't that effective then I shall stay away.
What I am trying to say is reviews promoting WA with your affiliate links is more converting than just the WA banner on your site.
I feel like you just shared my exact thoughts!!! I hear slow and steady with this business so I am going to keep plugging away! I have made a few bucks but I am wondering how long it takes to be super successful!
I had the last 3 weeks off of work with my kids and thought I would get a ton done and I slipped MAJORLY!! I think when I do get to stay home I am going to have to schedule some work hours and get them into some kind of program or with some kind of sitter so I can focus!

Thanks for your reply. I will definitely check out the Success Stories link you sent. I know it is do-able and I will keep plugging away at it. I suppose I need to adjust my expectations and time frames.
I think that being able to take time to re-examine what we're doing is crucial, Dan, so I'm glad to hear that you're taking time to make adjustments.
Hopefully, you'll be able to connect with the other Veronica. You may not see her on the platform a lot, but her training is incredible!
