Hitting the Brakes: Part II

I took a long hiatus from WA. Sure, I'll log in, do a little training here and there, but there was one major problem I encountered - my niche. With the niche chosen, I started building a website, and found potential future post topics that could be born while composing a post, but I simply wasn't feeling it. Creating content became a struggle. For me, once I lose the feeling of something, I disconnect. My attitude is, and I'm sure some of you may agree, is that if you feel something is worth it, you WILL put the necessary time and dedication into it. My niche wasn't filling that role, and that saddened me. It saddened me because it was based off an activity I have done for nearly three decades now. This struggle forced me to really question whether this activity was truly a passion, how much knowledge did I really have regarding it, and perhaps most worrisome of all - was the WA program REALLY for me?

As my website began collecting digital dust, I began delving into studying other interests and hobbies of mine, and my time began to be distributed over different areas. From the self-studying, looking for a job, and other miscellaneous life things that add up; and my WA training suffered from it. While I still had the dream of getting out the conventional employment rut most of us find ourselves in at some point in our lives, I've always been a realist, and know that I need to earn while I learn on this platform.

As 2019 rolled in, I began logging back into my account more. I'd still like to complete my training, and at the moment I'm juggling whether to keep pushing on with my current niche for training purposes, or explore other possible niches that may hopefully resonate with me more and run with one. Time will ultimately tell.

HI David, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Things take time. We know that Roman is not built in a day. If you feel that you cannot move on with your niche, either you do a switch or keep on researching to gain more knowledge on it.
I am also in a similar situation as you and I know that regardless of which profession you are in, it takes 2-5 years to become successful and professional. Just be patient and hang on!
Do take care, Mike! :o)

At this point in time, it's perfectly fine to start a second site in a niche that does inspire you. You do spend a lot of time with your site. Not loving the topic, especially for your first site, makes the process a chore instead of a joy. You don't need that added stress.

So find something you like, and start building your new site. Welcome back!

Hi there David, it's great that you are back and trying to find your way again. I believe that you already know in your heart whether or not this is the right niche for you and either way, as long as you push forward in your training and take your time to make a decision, I am sure you will find your answer:)
All the best, Cass

David,
If I may make a suggestion - write a list of everything that
interests you - start to narrow that list down - doing this can
sometimes lead us to find the real niche we should have
selected the first time around :)
Susan
Good luck and nice to have you back.

That's a very good suggestion, and I'll give it a try. I did't think to do that originally, as I was excited to have at least something to work with :)
