What Are You Worth?

According to my job I am worth a pretty penny. This job will come to an end on January 19 because the firm is dissolving. About half of the personnel have been picked up by the new company (Clyde & Co.).

As I search for a new job my skills seem to be worth half a pretty penny. No matter how many job alerts I go through, nobody wants to pay what I am worth.

Bring Out The Big Guns

I think it is time to hire a professional recruiter. The more I make on my new job, the more they will earn as my recruiter. Many employers will pay their fee in order to get a “tried and true” employee.

The Last Hope

As time runs out for me and my co-worker, my supervisor has arranged to have a chat with her new supervisor at Clyde & Co. Next Tuesday, January 16th, they will have a meeting to discuss the need for my co-worker and me to be picked up by Clyde & Co.

It is cutting things really short, but perhaps the powers that be at Clyde & Co. will decide such a thing quickly. One can only hope.

One of the best things I ever invested in was getting my resume professionally done. I'm a writer by profession, but resume writing is a distinct art unto itself. I paid about $300 to get it done, but once I started using the new one, I had more calls for better jobs than I had before the change. Consider investing in yourself this way.

Thanks, I will.

good luck, I hope it turns out well for you,

Good luck, I hope you can get what you are looking for, Scott

Best of luck to you.

The big trend in business is contract workers. No benefits are provided because you are a contractor, not an employee. Individual contractors don't have much leverage unless they are recognized experts.

This is why I am with WA. I think everyone needs a side gig producing a diversified income you can fall back on. A job is for survival. Your business can set you free.

Good luck. Take a job that can pay your living expenses while you develop your business. You will probably have to let go of the past and accept whatever the market will pay you.
