Stuck in my mind!
Ok ....here goes ........ I'm stuck!
I joined WA over 6 months ago, went premium, upgraded to yearly and have not achieved much.
I have done 6 lessons on the entepreneur training. The lessons themselves are great - no problem there.
It's just that now lesson 7 is talking about content of my website I'm finding every reason under the sun NOT to take action. The resultant mental block is making me feel totally stuck and in over my head. I dont know if I have the right niche or motivation to do this. I started so upbeat too....
Can anyone give me some inspiration please?
I would dearly love to work and enjoy success on the online world. Im no techie for sure.
My passions and first nich are digital speakers. Ironically my main passion in life is orientated around mindset/positive thinking and it is in this area I feel most confused in the cyber world of negative thinking!
I think I am suffering from a fear of failure.
Is success really achievable.......I feel intelligent enough to learn but overwhelmed by the extent of what I DONT know online-wise.
Help!
Regards,
Day ;-)

There was a time when I just hated to write because I write real slow. That has changed over the years to feeling that something is missing in life if I don't write. Now I try to find the time around caring for my wife and other business duties.
You are at a turning point. You can either succeed or fail, but the choice is always yours. It takes time to build a business and the rewards are really great.
Just write and you will soon see more and more things to write about in your niche.
The best to you.

I choose success. I now need to bring that success into reality by persistent and consistent taking of actions. Your encouragement is valued!!
Hi Damon. I have been with WA 3 years now and I can tell you I don't struggle with writing as much a sI did when I first started. Like others have mentioned here, try not to overthink the process. I It's really easy when you get the hang of it. Same way you have written this post is the same way you should approach your writing. Speak it out. Like everything, it takes practice. The more you do it the easier it gets
A common problem which I have also suffered from. I believe you "overthink" before starting to create content. Just get started and write. It does not matter if you don't get it right from the start, you can always modify it later.
Decide that you will spend say 45 minutes on writing and see how you go. Take a break and then get back to it. I think you stress yourself because you think content creation is difficult so just get started and do as much as you feel like, take a break and then get back to it.
I wish you luck and feel free to contact me if I can help you in any way.

You comments help me realise a common theme in the comments on my post relating to overthinking and lack of just jumping in and taking action. I see clearly now that starting to write content has no place for a perfectionist approach. Get it done and tune it later. And even then good enough IS good enough. Thank you for you words of support and offer to help.
You are welcome. Many people suffer from the same thing. I have had the same problem, Once I got stuck with a marketing problem simply because I could not decide on what traffic source to use on squeeze page, I did not do anything because of that for nearly a year. Inactivivity is in my eyes the most common problem people have when they are doing affiliate marketing.
Good luck
Hello Day,
Thank you for writing and sharing this.
May I ask you what happened when you wrote this important post? Do you realize that this is content? So I would suggest you begin an article with the same urgency feeling you had for this post.
Don't understand me wrong, I am not better, but I realize that overthinking is a problem. In that case, only the beginning is difficult, but once you have done the first step, the next is obvious.
Wishing you only the best,
N with a smile
Hehe. You have made me see clearly that the problem is illusionary within my mind. I have no problem with words: be they orally aired, intellectually conceived, or, if I am being honest....typed. I regularly share on Facebook and post and comment. Funny but you have just pointed out to me that all I need to do is replicate what I have already done. FEAR can be called False Evidence Appearing Real. You have just helped me dissolve my fear and see the simple, practical way forward. Cheers!.
Oh boy, this is great! You are so good.
FEAR can be called False Evidence Appearing Real. Thank you for this and thank you for being here and making certain thought clear.
To your success, Day!
Kindly,
Anne
Good Morning Day,
Well, it's morning here anyway. I can sympathize with your feelings regarding content. I promised myself I would write 15 posts this month I've written 2, but they will get done in the end.
Anyway a couple of things I do to get through are:
Number 1: Don't just focus on niche product. If your niche is digital speakers then write about the history of speakers or sound or surround sound of amplifiers or digital technology. That way you may also be learning and becoming more of an expert in your field.
Number 2: Create and outline as you research. Write short statements about your topic and then put them in order. By the time you are done you might have 200 words and you are 1/5 of the way there. Start adding support info to your statements and before you know it you are 1/2 way there.
Soldier through, if it were easy... everyone would be doing it. I often say to myself as I head to work "What will I be doing a year from now? 2 years from now?" Chances are I will be driving to work and looking for a way out of the rat race. Now wouldn't that be a shame?
Once you are making a few bucks you can pay someone to write for you.
Glenn
Great pointers. I like them. You have also shown me how I can be different and more engaged myself in the processes of developing expertise in my fields. I have no problem with succeeding in a niche and medium where the masses choose not to or cannot succeed. You are making me visualise content creation in small baby steps perhaps using mind maps (which I like to use for all sorts). The overwhelming support here is truly valued and inspirational. I have said it many times.....with the correct mindset and perseverance and support …"success is inevitable". May your successes continue and prosper!
Hi Day. I feel your pain. I have been here for over 3 years and my willpower for creating content is like a rollercoaster. I have gone down the Bootcamp route and am just focusing on promoting Wealthy Affiliate. To be fair I know the reason for my ongoing lack of success is because of what you're saying. I'm a little lost and am not creating anywhere near the volume of content that I need to be getting somewhere with this. I feel like I've lost that sense of excitement and have no idea how to get it back. Even if I do see progress now I feel like it's just not enough. Then I see other people achieving huge things and making big money and my frustration with myself continues to grow. I think if I'm to be completely honest with myself I am utterly bored with the subject matter and because it has now gone on for so long without anything to show for it I am now at my lowest and am in desperate need of something to inspire me. It takes me a good few days to pump out a complete article so it baffles me that people can do the same in a matter of hours. It takes me that long just to complete the research. So I am definitely struggling too and you are not alone. But after having invested this amount of time, and getting to just under 70 articles, I refuse to give up until I start getting the hang of this thing and making something of it. I would be letting myself down and only hurting myself because I still believe that this is something that can change my life. So try hanging in there, keep going with the training, and try to stay honest about the amount and volume of work you're putting in. I know it's easy to say you're not getting anywhere and blaming everything. The hard thing to admit is that you're not investing the time and effort that you should be. I don't know if this is the case for you but I do hope that you stick with it because you owe it to yourself for starting this from the last six months. Good luck with it. Rachael
Thank you for your honest and encouraging comments. I sure do appreciate it. I can clearly see how I now need to 'buy out' time to invest in my success and persevere. May the other comments (which I consider highly valuable) be of inspiration and practical value to you too. Thanks.
Well Day, welcome to WA...a community that wants you to succeed! If you read through the daily posts, many members give us updates on their progress so far. The results are clear..you CAN be successful, very successful in fact!
Kudos to you for getting to level 7 in your training. As for content, both niches you mentioned have the potential to be great :)
When I lose momentum, I go to the live training section and watch some of Jay's videos on whatever has me stuck. There are over 400 hours of webinars. Start there.
Best of luck on your journey to success!
I realise that being stuck need only be temporary here. There does seem to be ample support and tools and encouragement to overcome challenges. To our mutual successes....!
It may only be temporary but while you are going through it, it may feel like you'll never get over the 'hump' so to speak. Keep pushing forward and you will succeed :)
To our mutual successes!!
the content part made me stuck as well. what got me going is just starting to type. once I got comfortable writing content, it became much easier. wish you all the best!!!
Yep. Even just typing replies to you (and others) comments help me to realise that I can do this. Content is just an assembly of words. I love words. I love my niches. Success HAS to be inevitable!!!!

Have you created your second website around positive thinking?
It helps me to have more than one website because I get stuck frequently. When I'm stuck on one, I move over to another. I may not be as productive as someone who focuses on one but I think I would have given up by now if I taken the narrow approach.
Besides, I think that if you are writing about being positive, it will help you to feel that way.
The beauty of this is that I know see that I can actually write about my challenges and how to overcome them generically and even specifically using positive mindset techniques. A work in progress for me and others! Thanks for your input. I will be oscillating between my two niches as of NOW.
