Moving on up
Hey everyone
Some great news in that two of my posts are now appearing on page 1 when I search the keywords, have to say I am delighted but still plenty of work to do.
Just wanted to ask a question on this particular post which is appearing on page 1. My keyword title is Hen Party Ideas For Pregnant Bride but as you can see below this isn't the tile showing in google but instead my website title shows.
Hen Party Ideas - Get The Perfect Hen Party For You
perfecthenparty.com/ Stuck for ideas for the perfect hen party - we can help make your day one to ... Hen Party Ideas For Pregnant Bride – Alternative ideas to a night of drinking.
Sorry I don't know how to print screen so have just copied and paste. The title showing is linked to my actual site name and not my post keyword. Also when I click on the link it just takes me to my site instead of the actual post. Can anyone help?

Searching for that quoted keyword, "Hen Party Ideas For Pregnant Bride", I see that you have 8 spots out of 10, including 2 of your Google+ pages. Soooo encouraging!
While the one you mention went to your home page (where title and summaries of several blogs were listed), the other 5, Google linked to actual articles or, in one case, an image post.
I took a look at each of these 6 pages in a developer tool and could see that Google was sometimes grabbing link label text (for links which pointed to more of your articles). So Google's descriptive content wasn't always perfect. They seemed to like your "alternative to drinking" post, though. :)
Are your meta "description" tags written automatically? If you could tweak those with an editor, I think it might help in the long run.
Now, all that said...
If you remove the quotes from that same search term put into Google, (that is: Hen Party Ideas For Pregnant Bride), it gets much more competitive; because most people don't search with quoted text.
The good news is that ARTICLE DOES RANK. It's on page 2. All together, considering pages 1 and 2, it ranks at #19. But this is out of a total of 34,200 results! That's awesome and proves that this works.
Keep going. As your site gets some age on it and you keep working it, it will go higher. It looks fun and exciting, and you have comments. Activity and friends sharing your site with friends will continue to drive you up.
Congratulations!

p.s. Your site looks GREAT. While I have programmed and created member sites and apps for two decades, I've never worked with Wordpress; and am muddling through it at the moment. You've done a great job!
Hi Fran
Thank you so much for your time in looking at this for me I really appreciate your help and kind comments.
Continued work needed but hopefully I am on the right track :-)
You definitely are, Dawn. :)
