Hi, my name is Davona, I'm a 41 yr old wife and mother of 6. I am currently a Business Analyst for an insurance company. Ive recently been on the search to own my own business and gain capital for my husband's dream of owning his own family business. He currently is a carman for a major railroad company.

I've been working in Corp America for over 20 years and quite frankly I'm burnt out. This is the first time I've done anything like this and it's a few steps outside my comfort zone. But I can say I am so excited to begin this journey and im ready for what lies ahead.

I hope things are going well Davona! I want to remind you of one thing, your hard work and dedication IS going to pay off. Keep working through the training, communicating within the community, and of course, ask for help when you need it.

Just heading out for a bit here, but do leave me a message if you need a hand with anything. You should have Premium communication back for an additional 7 days now, so hit me up when you get a chance Davona!

Thank you Kyle, I took your advice and narrowed it down to home decor. I've created the website and am now in the process of building it. I went to my Facebook page and posted a poll to my fb community asking them what they would be interested in learning about. I figured this would be a good way to build an audience. If they are apart of the building process they might be more inclined to visit once it is up and running. However I know that value is what is going to keep people coming back. I'm more motivated then ever to do this. Thanks again for turning my communication back on and all your help!

That is definitely one way that you can get insight into your niche, asking questions like that.

When I go to do research on a given niche to come up with concepts for keywords (and ultimately content), I ask a few questions of my niche.

**What are some products/services that people are purchasing in your niche?
**What are some questions they are asking?
**What are some problems they are having?
**What are some "how to's" that are useful?
**What are some trending topics in your niche?

Do some research, in could be as simple as a Google search to uncover a lot of these items. I personally start off my keyword research using this technique: This will open your doors to essentially unlimited ideas and concepts, from there you can plug in these keywords into a keyword tool like the one here at WA or Jaaxy.com. Hope this helps you out here Davona!

Hi Kyle, one more question. I'm not in love with my website name. Just named it on the fly. Since Its been created would I be able to change the name?

Unfortunately, you cannot change a domain name after it has been created. You would need to create a brand new website with a new domain if you wanted to update the domain URL. That is the only way to update the URL of your website.

If you are a Premium member, you can use the Move feature to move all of the old content from the old domain to your new one and this will make it so you don't lose any of your existing work you have done on your domain.

Hi Kyle,

I have a few follow up questions about moving my website. As I stated before I created the website(have not purchased a domain yet) quickly without thinking about the name too much. I am not in love with the name but have thought about a new name that i would rather have. How do I move the content over to a new domain if I have not purchased it yet or if I have purchased one?

Well you can definitely change the name when you do decide to get a domain name of your own.

When you choose a domain, you are going to want to choose something that is "brandable" versus something that has keywords within it. The reason this is the case is because as you build out your website, you can target as many keywords as you like within the content (that is how you will rank).

I have created a discussion here outlining the process and what to look for when choosing a domain name: This should help you out here and if you ever want to run any domains by me, simply let me know and I will give you some feedback.

PS. You can host up to 25 of your own domains here within the Premium membership on our state of the art hosting platform. :)

Hi Kyle! I appreciate you reaching out. I do have a question. I am stuck on picking a niche and a purpose for my website so I have not moved on to the creating a website portion of the training. I'm thinking about creating a niche based website that would allow people to sell items through it and I get a commission from the sales. I want to create the affiliate program first to build a relationship with vendors. Is this possible on this platform? I need a little help

What you promote is not your niche, your audience is your knees and there're over 500 million products and services that you can promote online.

A niche can honestly be anything, what are you passionate about? What are you interested in?

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Hi Kyle, thank you for responding. I've settled on a niche. I want to do it on crafting. Things people make with their hands and using their creativity. What advice would you be able to give on this? And my second question is would I ever be able to allow people to sell their creations through my site?

I would recommend that you narrow it down a bit, what aspect of "crafting" do you want to help people out with? What type of crafts?

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)
