NOTE TO SELF (AGAIN!):
WHAT IS THIS 4 PART POST ALL ABOUT?
HERE'S WHAT - SALES FUNNELS: THE 'WHAT', 'WHERE', 'WHEN', 'HOW', PLUS...SOME EXAMPLE LANDING PAGES, SQUEEZE PAGES, OPT-IN PAGES, AND MORE...
PUBLISHED OVER THE FOUR DAYS, ONE PER DAY, TODAY IS PART 2...
OK WITHOUT FURTHER ADO...
INTRODUCTION
Today is the second day of our drill down into sales funnels. In this segment, I am going to go into some of the mechanics of what to consider and why when you develop your pages for the funnel, as well as the product used to entice a prospect to provide that so important name and email contact information to you...
YOUR PATH TO PROFITABLE SALES FUNNELS
Here are 8 (5 covered today) things you need to consider when creating your pages around template that you have mapped out. Many people do this on a piece of scratch paper, some use mind mapping software, it is up to you...
Before we go into these steps, however, it would be helpful to see why I speak of 8 steps and what they pertain to. At the start of you creating your sales funnel, it pays to map out what you are doing...Myself, I create a schematic such as the ones below. It makes the whole process a LOT easier I think...Please have a look at the two examples...
EXAMPLE ONE:
This template is really nothing more than your roadmap to guide the overall direction, it does not have to go into the nitty gritty details at this point (but it can, it is up to you). I will include a sample of one here for you to have a look at...

POINTS
- You will note that this particular sales funnel template does not have a squeeze page at the top. This is because the developer was not intending to use the funnel for lead-list building...
- Rather he is going to get the contacts and emails from buyers only (these are the good leads by the way - ones that are taking action to buy from you - these are your premium leads) as they buy using the PayPal or Credit Card payment page..
- The other point on this is he is using the affiliate system through JVZoo, wherein he pays a 50% commission to the people that sign up and then send traffic to his funnel. Do you see how clever this is?
- He is only going to get the contacts from real buyers, and he is going to leverage the work of many others who have strived to establish a lead list, who will make sure all of their leads see his funnel...
- The price he is paying? Throughout this particular funnel, he is paying 50% to the affiliate (pretty good commission I would say)...
EXAMPLE TWO:
Here is another sample of a funnel template that may fit more to affiliate marketing (where you are capturing leads):

POINTS
- This is a more typical template we would likely use for our affiliate marketing efforts here.
- The advantage of going through this process is that you will have a very solid idea of where you are going when you start fleshing out your funnel.

- This template you create does not have to be as fancy as what you see above (OK as fancy as it may be lol)...
- It starts here, but you have some more steps left....See below...
OK YOU HAVE A DESIGN - NOW TO THE NEXT STEPS
1. Obtain or Create a High Quality Product As a ‘Give-Away’.
If what you are giving away has no value to a prospect, it is highly unlikely that they will give you their contact information. Spam is a sensitive issue and you must think of it from a prospect’s perspective. Would YOU be willing to provide an email and name for the product?
The product can be an eBook, niche report, or a video, etc. Recently created PLR could work, but if you decide to go with this, make sure that it is re-worked, that it is current with market standards, relevant to the niche, and is of high quality.
A combination of more than one give-away might work best, you can design this item or package based on your objective and your target audience.
2. Add Affiliate Links To The Giveaway.
There are a couple of reasons I can think of to do this. If the subscriber reads through the give-away they may want to click through for more information. They may also pass the give-away on to their colleagues, and then you start to get some passive visitors to your site, your offer or other offers you may have in circulation.
If your giveaway is of good quality (which it should be) there is a chance that it WILL be shared around the internet with people who have not actually opted in to your list. You may consider giving away rights to allow the receiver to pass it on to others as a part of their program (with or without editing/changes allowed, your choice)…
3. Refine Your Designed Sales Funnel – What Pages Do I Need and How to Make Sure They Convert (See Above)
Depending on the niche, different kinds of squeeze pages will tend to be more effective, so testing is key. Use the template to get the pages together, then start testing. Test everything, and change only one thing at a time.
Also remember that there are many different elements to a page, and different kinds of pages. Test some different combinations as well. We will go into this in more detail further on in this training...Here are some quick pointers now however...
- It is a process, until you find the right mix, you may have to change 3 or more times your layout and text…Headlines, bullet points, graphics, logos, videos, video skins, backgrounds and a variety of designs all need to be considered then created/added.
- This is where your creativity comes into play, or you can go to the various sources for templates that will work for each component of your funnel and edit them to make them fit exactly what you need.
- Think through the process from a client’s perspective, as in: Who is your target audience, what are they looking for (their problem and your solution), and are you going for simple or complex pages/explanations, what would cause them to take action…etc.
- As an example a simple page might work well for a straightforward offer/product, and for more complex products or services with a higher price tag, adding in a video to make a video sales letter might work better and get you higher conversion.
It really is dependent so much on all the factors I have mentioned as to how you proceed...
Hint 1. If you wanted to quickly get to what works, see what the successful competition is doing. Look at their front end page, their up-sell and down-sell, their layout, where they are advertising, get as much information as you can gather from that source.
Hint 2. Once you do that, emulate the package from top to bottom. You already know they have tested and know what they have works, they are selling lods of their products. So in designing your pages, you will set them up in a similar manner…NOT copying, just similar…
4. Create Your Legal Pages & Links
It is very important that you comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act regulations, so you must include links from all of your created squeeze pages to a privacy page, terms of service page, a DMCA declaration and a disclaimer page.
Without having these, there is always a risk that your site could be taken down without notice – or even worse, you could be liable for someone taking legal action against you. Host these on a separate page url and you can link from the sales page to allow people to easily review if they require this…
5. Create a Redirect Page
I have seen this used at times and other times not. Sometimes it is a combination thank you page for opting in and a redirect page.
It can appear right after a new subscriber opts in, and will typically say something like 'Please wait while you are redirected to a special offer'.
This page needs to be set up to automatically redirect subscribers to a 'front end offer' page. If you have set up automatic delivery of the give-away to their email you now have for the prospect, then that can be mentioned…
Remember for this first sale, you want a low-priced high converting product to offer your subscribers, and this immediately after they request your free give-away - this is your first upsell.
If you want to get good conversions, it has to be very closely related to your giveaway. This provides a high value for a reasonable/small amount of money.
Conversions mean more dollars my friends!

CONCLUSION
OKAY, THIS IS WHERE WE STOP FOR THE DAY, THE OTHER THREE POINTS WE WILL COVER TOMORROW...I SUGGEST YOU TRY YOUR YOUR HAND AT CREATING SOME FUNNEL TEMPLATES AND START THINKING THROUGH THE PROCESS, SEE WHAT YOU COME UP WITH!
