Had a Heart Attack

Hello to all my friends here at Wealthy Affiliate. Just a quick blog post to let my friends know I am ok now. On Friday night I had severe pain in the upper chest (lungs) area and couldn't sleep lying down. I figured it had something to do with my lungs and something from way back when I was smoking. I never felt anything like it ever. I am 51 years young and never had health issues ever, not even in my familys history. Saturday morning I felt a bit better but I figured I should go to urgent care and have it checked out. Got there at 4:57 Pm and they closed at 5:00 PM. I said as they were turning out the lights, I will come back in the morning if you all want to go home? the receptionist said "Oh, no it's fine and it will be quick. It reallly was the quickest urgent care visit ever ;-) They proceeded to take X-rays of my lungs but then they did EKG on my heart. I had all these leeds attached to my entire body, legs and everything. The Dr left the room and shouted at the nurse to call 911. I asked the radiologist who needs 911? Something must be wrong with someone I didn't see. I guess the Dr heard me asking about it and she replied YOU do, your having a heart attack! I couldn't believe my ears! I was like no way I don't need an ambulance, I am at urgent care. She said you need to be in the ER asap. I wasn't scared until I saw such panic in her eyes!

I was a bit taken back by that and I didn't feel like antyhing was really that bad as I wasn't grabbing at my chest like you would see actors do on TV. So I was sent to the ER and they did more tests and sure enough my heart had some things going on with it but they couldn't pin point it. They did say for sure they see some sort of blockage and pericarditis, which is some form of inflammation of the heart lining. So I have to see a cardiologist asap and have an electrocardiogram to see exactly whats going on and what they can do. I tell you I was never so scared in my life! I know we are going to age but I never had been sick or had any medical issues ever. So this experience really shook me and made me realize just how fragile our body is. But for now I am ok.

The point of this post is to let everyone know that each and every day needs to be lived the best you can. Do what makes you happy and work smart to achieve your dreams and goals. You never know or think about these life threatening issues until its upon you. At least I didn't. Not like we feel we are invicible but we sometimes take things and life for granted til its being yanked from you. Love as much as you can and do everything you can to make sure all you want in life is achieved. Make sense? As well, I started to take a powerful liquid collagen which helped my body in so many ways since I am not getting any younger....lol Also, the Dr told me the collagen I am taking is also helping to make my arterial walls stronger, which was music to my ears. Who knows what could of happened if I hadn't started to take it a rew months prior. Heart blockage builds up over time and the inflammation my heart lining had going on is from internal or external stress. I know I am not stressed out but I was doing a lot of traveling and closing on excrow in one of my homes, then having to list a couple other houses etc so its possible that internally my body was going through stress etc. Anyway, just wanted to give my advice that we need to live life at its best and love everyone in your life as much as you can. Because you just never know what can happen and when it will happen. Thanks for reading and thanks too all my friends and family here at Wealthy Affiliate for being my friends and helping me when I was in need. Kyle has always been a good friend to me since 2008 and that is absolutely appreciated and I have mad respect for him and all he has done here to help up succeed and grow in our journey here.David Schmidt

Hey David:
Glad to know that you're still here.
Yea, "as serious as a heart attack" kind-of has a personally deep meaning to you -yea?
That EKG tells nothing unless the attack is happening right then. Good call on their part. Probably that receptionist's first experienc with such a "case".
Stats are that once someone is within the ER with an OR upstairs, survival goes way way up. So yea, I can only imagine what she had been thinking.
.
From what you've written, looks to be chronic. Yet could be even viral, meaning it could have even been contracted sometime this year. Spooky -yes!
.
Inflammation is a HUGE key. It's like a reverse engineering so to get @ the cause.
Collegen, yes. Don't forget the vitamin C along with the E. Collegen requires the C.
And feed that heart the best in fats. It's what the heart burns.
And via your real estate business, you probably get enough sunlight / vitamin D.
.
All the best to you, David.

As a former cardiac nurse, I know how frifrightening this can be for you. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance.

One thing I have learned is, that we are truly what we eat. This is my area of interest and the niche I work in as well.

David, I am thankful that you are okay. Your guardian angel must have been with you that you didn't arrive at the clinic at 5:03 instead of 3 minutes to 5. I just gave a talk at my local library this past Saturday on just this topic-stress, health, and the gap in health care. Stress management is my niche.

Be well and thank goodness for the excellent care you received.

Well thank you Anne! I am too! Stress management is a great niche indeed and something many of us take for granted. As a matter of fact, I said I don't have any stress in my life so why did my heart lining get inflamed? But they said stress can be internal as well. Hope your niche will be able to help others like me.

David

A heart attack will certainly cause thoughtful people re-evaluate their priorities. I faced the same turning point when I had a heart attack in 2016. It seems you're taking a lot of positive action to live a healthy and grateful life, and I wish you nothing but the best going forward.

I am very sorry to hear that Wendy! Is everything ok with you now? And yes, I feel I have been given a chance to enjoy life and do what I can to make sure I don't take things for granted as I was definitely doing.

David, I’m so glad to hear that you are doing so well considering the circumstances. Your comments about loving those around you and not taking any day for granted are an affirmation of why I started this journey. Thank you for your words of caution and inspiration. You will be in my prayers.

I definitely appreciate that Rick! Glad you are able to see that now and your journey will be a better one since your why is in the right direction, that's for sure!
