It Happened To Lou Reed

Yes, it happened to Lou Reed too. He is dead. He left our physical world few days ago, more precisely, on the October 27, 2013. He is one of the symbols of several generations. The image above ilustrates it too.

I had decide to create the first post on the returned Divas And Other Beings site with something no one would expect. With something i am really not an expert. I decided to create this little tribute to Lou Reed. Because, i dont like to be a predicatable person. And, also because, Lou was the latest legend to awake this fear of mine. My death. Others death. Above all, legends death. Myths can be destroyed too. Myths can die too.

Bette Davis, maybe the best actress ever, is dead. She is no longer with us. Well, in body, she isnt. Because right now, i am making her alive, I read somewhere that people only really die when the last person that knew them is gone too. I guess this leads to something more positive: after all...maybe Lou, maybe Better, are still alive. They will still enchant us with their art. They will still make us smile. They will still inspire us.

I guess their mortality only gives them more meaning. Because they are ( i wont use the past anymore) fragile too. Remembering right now, names like Donna Summer, Whitney Houston, Eartha Kitt, Celia Cruz, Cesaria Evora, Dusty Springfield, Michael Jackson. So many icons, myths, legends. Humans like me. This makes me feel good. Really good. It´s possible to remain alive. Its possible to leave a mark here. It´s possible to influence other people´s lives. It´s possible to achieve peace, tranquility. It`s possible to be a legend too, in my own way.

I am relieved in writing this. I didnt know where these words would lead too, when i started the text. But i knew i had to write this for some reason. Thanks to Lou Reed for helping me in having a perfect day. Maybe his most memorable song.

I cant finish these words, without refering a great Diva. An alternative lady, who was Lou´s Wife: Miss Laurie Anderson. Ironically, her most well known song is called "O Superman". Again, is Lou a Superman? Am i? Are We? Even tough we physically leave this world...arent we SuperBeings...if we get inspired by all these legendary human beings , artists, that made the world ( are making ) a better place?

An original...
Being an artist always came first - a true professional.
The velvets are still one of the most seminal & influential noise makers in R&R history.
Cheers

Lou Reed was an inspiration and will never be forgotten

Agreed here.

He was a singer song writer from way back.

No disrespect intended but who is or was Lou Reed?

No disrespect at all! Lewis Allan "Lou" Reed (March 2, 1942 – October 27, 2013) was an American musician, singer and songwriter . His most well known songs are Perfect Day, Walk On The Wild Side , Sweet Jane ( Love The Cowboy Junkies Version ). He started in Velvet Undergroud.
