Checking In. Winding Up 2021, Preparing for 2022
Hi, Everyone...
It has been a LONG time since my last posting here. I have been a "silent lurker" though and it is good to see all the advances the platform has introduced for members...
My renewal is coming up and I really had to think hard about whether to extend my membership or not.
My final decision: I am staying!
Wealthy Affiliate is like a corner bar that just feels right when you stop by. The ambiance, the people, the information, and the tools make it so...
Having said that...
I have morphed over the past 6 1/2 years as a member in regards to my online business, and that is the reason for the lack of participation in assisting other members, in making blog comments, and in posting...
Right now things have progressed to the point where a full-time income (and then some) is within my grasp...
We have a team of people now to take care of our clients and students, and most of them are a third to a half my age! Holy Cow!
Time flies...
I feel inside like the team members look on the outside (and feel on the inside ) - fresh and young!
But on the outside? Hmm, we are not so much alike haha!
Yep...
I'm getting old
BUT!
The alternative (NOT getting old) is a very poor second choice!
Dave thinking "Damn their youth and freshness too..."
Just a little holiday joke...God Bless them all, they take care of this old man...
Anyway...
Of course, scaling the business up means I have less time for other areas my interests take me.
But...
The year that almost was (2021) and last year (2020) too for that matter have been rough on so many people and families...
So...
I have chosen to leverage the times we find ourselves in to build something that can positively and materially affect (in a good way) many of these unfortunate souls...
Without going into specifics, it has now been tested for going on a year and we have achieved remarkable results for our students.
We are now launching full-scale and are ready to take care of hundreds of people each month.
I am quite excited.
Can You Do The Same?
You betcha you can!
Without going on for days and days (I could haha), know that your will and tenacity can carry you through almost anything.
It has me...
I have fought off or through many obstacles over the past couple of years, and am still around to talk (or write) to you today!
Now Is The Time...
There is no better time than RIGHT NOW to evaluate where you are and where you want to be...
Then...
Take the necessary steps to get to where you want to be...
Don't make excuses, don't procrastinate, don't ignore what has to be done...
As the old Nike commercial used to say "Just Do It!"

I wish all members and Kyle & Carson the best for the holiday season.
Keep on trucking, enjoy the times (a precious thing and that is one more thing you cannot buy more of), and be safe!
Looking forward to checking in again after the New Year and reading a bunch of stories about how successful everyone has been over this year and what they are planning for next year!

It is great to see your post and to hear you are sticking with WA for now. I really like the corner bar analogy. I might just use that if you do not mind. I had wondered where you were over the last few months, as I had not seen a post.
People know that I rarely post, but you were prolific for a while.
I am happy you have leveraged your WA asset into an income and are looking to build on that. I am still figuring mine out, but I have not given up hope.

Nice to have you stop by...Yes, it has been hectic and I've had little time to socialize or add much value to the community here. I do miss that, I like the atmosphere here...
The point on staying or going for me came down to what value I get versus the cost (even at an annual rate, at my membership fee it amounts to $25 a month).
Based on having the keyword tool, the ability to get comments for posts on websites that I host with WA (the few websites, as I have my own server and only the ones started years ago are still with WA), and just checking n once in a while to see what is going on, I decided to stay.
Truthfully I stopped promoting Wealthy Affiliate over a year ago, and I am not sure that it is a panacea for all. There are just too many paths to success online to be stuck in one approach.
Especially when that approach works for the few. That is the case, you are not alone. I have read statistics that 95 to 99% of people fail with their online businesses!
That is why I congratulate you on sticking with it. In the Army we used to say where there is a will there is a way. I believe that. I used to tell people this:
"Do not come to me with problems, come to me with solutions!"
Everyone knew this so when they came to me with something that was blowing up in our face they also came having thought through possible solutions.
It forced everyone to critically think on a regular basis and at the end of the day, they were better leaders and more successful as a result.
How Does This Relate To The Conversation, Dave?
I am sure that is what you are thinking haha!
Here's how:
The WA program provided the springboard and foundation for the journey I find myself on. Within the limits of what it provides, I feel it can be a good place to start.
But what I have learned and observed over the years is that all these programs are one-dimensional in some aspects. Most have their path, and some do not even have that!
Their path is the ONLY way they advocate for members to have success online. The problem is that there are a number of ways to have success and one path will not work for everyone.
In fact, it will not work for most people, That is where the 95 to 99% fail rate mentioned above comes in I think. Most vendors do not care, just keep plugging people in and making the cash.
Of course, I do not feel that WA is such a case, compared to other programs that are out there. They are at the top of the heap. But it is all a heap (maybe not at the top?), with all the connotations that vision conjures up.
Impact On Me...
I am a builder, an evaluator, and I look for systemic problems. Always have been doing this, before the military as a kid, while in the military, and most certainly after the military.
My Analysis or: The State of the State of Online Business
The direction I am going in based on my analysis and observations is creating something that addresses what I perceive to be shortfalls in every all-in-one system or program I have reviewed or been a part of (or supposedly such a platform - there are many that are not close to what they claim to be)...
Over the past year (and more), I and a team have worked hard to develop a platform that truly looks at this MMO thing from a student/new to the business entrepreneur's perspective...
The end product is a work-in-progress and always will be, but we have seen success for our clients/students and based on feedback and results, continue to tweak what we have so far...
I truly believe that we can turn that failure rate mentioned above around! We can have 95 to 99% success rates. Of course, you need the right targeted audience or the numbers will be skewed (as I am sure they are for most programs as the focus is only on selling, selling, selling!)...
Anyway...
OK enough, I am sure you are sleeping by now Haha!!! I hope that you sense my excitement and passion for the business, and for helping people like you succeed using a path they design and build out using everything they have with our program.

It sounds great, Dave. I am happy you have found a path and it is working for you. I do have a path here (within WA), and I am looking at another path to compliment and or deviate slightly.
After all we all must follow our own path to success.
