The Rich Get Richer and The Poor Get Poorer: Redux

The Rich Get Richer and the Poor Get Poorer. Is this a true statement? Unfortunately, yes it
is true but does that mean that it's just the way it's supposed to be? Is it like a force of
nature? The answer to that is yes as well but not a force of nature as in the 'birds and the
bees' or E=mc2. The nature that comes to bear on this topic is the nature of human beings
and that nature seems to be one of greed. Touted as one of the 'seven deadly sins', it is
surely the one that makes this statement true.

There are also components that make up this truth. Two of them are education and
technology. Isn't is interesting that more and more money is spent on technology while less
and less is spent on education. I don't think that this is, in any way, a coincidence. It seems to
me that the first thing needed in order to make a significant and lasting change in the state
of our economy is to be better educated. Now I'm not just talking about reading, writing, and
arithmetic although they are important too. I'm talking about an education that is geared
towards teaching us how to better reason and think for ourselves.

Of course, in order for this to happen we must make sure that the information that we
learn is accurate and unbiased. This may be harder to do than it sounds. I say this because
education can be a tool of control which I believe is very much the case in our society today.
Don't forget that it is easier to pull the wool over the eyes of an ignorant or uneducated
population than it is to do so with a well informed and empowered populace. So here's a
suggestion. Make use of this powerful technology that the majority of us have access to;
that's right. The computer.

A few years ago, I new nothing of computers or even considered the possibility of making a
living with it. Being laid off from my job, through no fault of my own, and not being able to
find gainful employment again due to the virtual crumbling of our economy, led me to
search for a way to survive. First I spent months learning how to use a computer competently
and then I proceeded to try and figure out how to make money online. I now have my own
website, a product to promote, and am learning how to make a living online. I still have a
ways to go but I'd have to say, my future is bright. Compared to other ways to make money,
using the internet is easy money. I guess what I'm trying to say is put down the joystick and
stop with all the game playing that is going on online.

It's those that are making these games and selling them to you at high prices that are making
out like bandits. It's those that are buying and playing the games...2,5, 10 hours a day that are
getting the wool pulled over their eyes. There's a lot more to be said on this subject but I'll
just leave you with this for now. Go online and do some research. Educate yourself. You can
start by learning about money. Not how to make it but what it really is. What is real money?
Is it those pieces of paper with Benjamin Franklins' face on it or is it something else? What I call 'food for thought'.
