Creating a money mindset

Those in the computer industry have a saying – “Garbage In, Garbage Out”.It refers to computer programing of course, meaning that the performance you get from a computer will only be as good as the programming behind it.

The analogy has been made time and again that our minds are like computers, meaning that our own productivity, efficiency and accomplishments are as good as what we put in our minds. In other words how we program our minds will determine our output.

This realization gives us a powerful advantage – we can program ourselves for success! Unfortunately, many of us have surrendered that responsibility and let ourselves be programmed by others (myself included). Another saying to keep in mind is “Misery loves company”, and those that are miserable like to fill our minds with garbage so that we will be miserable and keep them company. These can be “friends”, co-workers, skeptics and even our own family members. Many of these “negative programmers” may have good intentions, thinking that they are keeping form failure. (Of course the assumption is that we will fail. How deluded they are.)

The good news is that we can erase all those “negative programs” by retaking over our own programming. Below are few habits to develop that will create a money mindset.

1. Develop an attitude of gratitude – you may not have much but be grateful for what you do have. If you’re reading this you probably own a computer – be grateful for that and the opportunity it affords to earn an income.

2. Kill your TV - Which at best serves as a placebo to lull our minds into inaction. Watch only what will lift YOU up and not some product that a sponsor is trying to push on you. (Remember - they call them "programs" for a reason.)

3. Read – Read to get educated and read to get motivated! I’ll blog later about some of the books that have helped me in my mindset. (I wonder what Kyle and Carson have been reading lately.)

4. Listen – Rather than listening to the news about how bad everything is or music that has been played out for decades, try listening to motivational speakers such as Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins and one of my favorites Joel Osteen. All can be found on youtube.

5. Talk to yourself – If people don’t have anything good to say about you, YOU have something good to say about you. Build yourself up, stir up your own spirit if nobody else will do it for you. Affirm yourself through affirmations!

6. Get to know God – He’s on your side and He wants to bless you even more than you want to be blessed! If you don’t believe in God, then believe in dog and get dyslexia (Tony Robbins quote).

Thanks for reading and God Bless. Let me know what you think.
