Ups and Downs
It's interesting isn't it? This game can brings moments of huge joy and periods of "oh gosh what am I actually doing?!" Having been a member of WA now for I think 4 months and without a proper sale to my name, I find myself experiencing these emotions from time to time.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not suffering financially as I have a good job that pays the mortgage and keeps the family in the life to which they are accustomed. But it can be bloody tough at times.
Needless to say. This is a marathon and not a sprint. Good things come to those who wait. You can only connect the dots looking backwards, not forwards. Hope for the best but be prepared for the times when things aren't going good. (I'm literally just typing things here to try to motivate myself.)
One very positive thing that has happened is after leaving many comments on niche-related sites, I was contacted and asked to guest blog on an accessible technology website. It's so funny how my current role (i.e. the one that pays the bills) and my WA role (which I want to one day lead to self-employment) have merged into one. This will hopefully lead to a better Trust Flow and Citation Flow for my site, while also increasing exposure and actually helping people. The fact that it might pay me a bit of money per post is also very attractive. ($100 per post ain't too shabby.... :))
So, in the words of Mel Gibson in that fantastic film "The Patriot" -
"Stay the Course"

Good post...I too find it helps motivate me when I get stuck in and start to type...from there you can go on and do some real work!!
