Old Fart

I'm on Social Security with one foot in the old grave. I've had the other foot in the grave since I got married 48 years ago, serious, she's a good woman and put up with a lot of crap from me. It's a long, long road but If you get a good woman who will always tells you the truth, and is always faithful, its worth the time and the work. Anyone else would be a total waste of time and more trouble than a reasonable man can handle. I guess the opposite also holds true for women.

Where's My Lifetime Achievement Award?

I guess that this side of heaven there are no awards for such as I. I've worked all my life for someone else, since I was 14 and Social Security, and a failing liver is all I have to show for it. I would like, just once, to be able to afford a vacation or be able to travel or live anywhere I choose. However: it doesn't look like that's coming. I would like to dress myself and my wife up in nice clothes and not worry how I'm going to pay the bills or not worry where my next loaf of bread is coming from.

Is That My Hope Joining This Community? It doesn't look like I will live long enough to make it. i always had intelligence, but it was hidden away because my parents couldn't send me onto college. Company's do not want its workforce to be too smart, or the people could never be satisfied and the assigned job would never get finished the way they want. That's left to the bright, young, college boys who, though smart always wanted to change things "In their own image" and never heard of, "if it ain't broke don't fix it".

So Why Try

All I have to say is for that young lady who growed old with you, and the children, grandchildren, and "ha hmm" great-grandchildren we're leaving behind. We try and we try until there isn't any life left in us.
