How to move on?
My dear ones, I am with you again after a long period and I am very happy. I feel that we are all selflessly supporting each other here and your help and advice mean a lot to me.
Namely, I brought my site to visual perfection, I have 50 posts on it, although I admit that lately, I don't write often because I'm lazy and I run out of will... The site is mostly related to travel, I have approved affiliate access for Expedia, Agoda and another site related to organic products have allowed me access to links.
My accounts are neatly linked, everything goes smoothly except for one and the most important one. And that is TRAFFIC. How to get as many people as possible to my site? Is it just by persistentlywriting texts or is there some other way? I even paid for some sites that bring people in and at one point I had 5,000 visitors but nothing ...
Also, I'm not sure how correct is my niche regarding corona and limitations in the world of travel. I hesitate to change my niche, so I can switch to something else, but that would mean that my work that lasts 9 months falls into the water ... I would have to start from the beginning ... Sometimes I am attacked by thoughts that everything is in vain and that I should stop.
Do you have any advice for me? It would mean a lot to me. I wish everyone all the best,
Danijela

I agree with Richard. Take an objective view of your site. Look at it through the eyes of others. Is it easy to navigate? Is it informative? Does it make people want to stay and explore?
Remember that first impressions are the most important. Jim
Hi Danijela
I took a look at your site.
It looks great ... the Lillebule image looks great ... I apologise for what I am about to say ... please take it as just an opinion.
... I immediately found the Home page confusing and to be perfectly honest if I wasn't there to take a reasonable look I would not have stayed because it didn't immediately strike me as being a source of information about travel and holidays.
So if I had got there via a keyword I possibly wouldn't have stayed because perhaps it is not immediately obvious what the site is for.
How do your stats look?
Is it possible that others are finding your Home page and not moving on?
I know you have a nice CTA on the home page... but my immediate impression was NOT that it's a travel site. Is it possible that people are finding your site and not understanding its purpose?
It would be a shame to abandon such a nice looking site when perhaps it just needs a few tweaks to get people reading.
Dear Richard, thank you for your honest opinion. You are right, I also think I must improve my home page. Thank you, you are do kind!
Hi,
I am not an expert so this is just me pondering what I would do in your situation.
I think the wisdom is to keep writing. I am a bit behind you in that I have slightly fewer posts and my site needs more work on it. I certainly wouldn't call it "visual perfection".
I have just joined Tailwind app, in the hope that might bring some traffic long-term but we will see. I also just enjoy Pinterest. I thought it would be fun and useful to look at other people's websites in my niche (education).
As yours is a travel site and there is less travel going on at the moment, might it be worth advertising some travel accessories that would be useful for local travel as well as going abroad.
It might be worth starting a new website, but don't get rid of this one! I am sure that we will all be travelling again in the future!! And maybe we will need new articles on how to travel safely to and in different parts of the world.
Good luck and I hope that your traffic and buyers come soon to your site!
All the best,
Julia
Thank you dear Julia, on this encouraging words! You are right, I will rethink...We need to write, write and write. Sometimes is hard because it takes a lot of free time and research but we could not give up!
I wish you a lot of success!
Sincerely,
Danijela

THe only surefire way to get traffic to your site is by writing and posting consistently. 50 articles in a year isn't enough. YOu either need to up your writing on your site or start a new niche you are interested in.
Thank you Jon, writing is the only real way :)
Thank you so much on your comment!
