Keyword Research Made Simple: Using The WA Keyword Tool

Ok,

First I can't take full credit for this "lesson", as I learned it from Potpiegirl. Thank you Jennifer for your Dam Way resource. I think it will help a lot of people get started in Internet marketing.

If you are researching keywords for your article marketing campaigns there is only really ONE column on the WA Keyword Tool that you need to be concerned about.

Note: You can still use Google Adwords Keyword Tool for other aspects of your research, but that goes beyond the scope of this post. :-)

If you don't know how to access the WA Keyword Research Tool: At the top of your WA page in your Dashboard it is under Tools & Research. Simple click on this tab, selected Keyword Research Tool, and click Start Keyword Research Tool.

Type in your keywords (if you are promoting a product about registry cleaners, type in registry cleaners).

Your results will come up.

All of the information is important: Searches last month, Average searches, Estimated Traffic, Websites Quoted, Competition, Article Power, PPC Power, Spy, and Dig.

But you don't need to stress about it. Thanks to WA most of the work is done for you.

You will only use 1 column to help you determine which keyword to use in your article marketing campaign.

Which keywords do I use? 

The only column that you will use to determine which keywords to write your articles about is the "Article Power" column.

Double click on the Article Power column to sort it in descending rank. You will only choose the keywords that rank from 9.0 - 10 for the best articles that will rank you high in Google.

That's you are DONE with your keyword research! Easy right?

WA has just done 99% of the work for you!

Save Your Keyword Search Lists

Now you want to click the box next to each keyword and notice that it is automatically added to the Keyword List Builder on the right hand side of your screen.

Click Save List; Name your List; then click Save List again.

WA saves all your keyword Lists so that you can download them and use them when you are ready to start writing your articles.

Click on the tab that says "My Keyword Lists" and see the new keyword list you just created.

You are now ready to start making your article titles and bio boxes.

Remember write an article for EVERY keyword in your list. Yes EVERY keyword. Your new best friend is your keyboard. Write and write and write!

Again, don't stress. Remain calm. You are building a business.

More articles = More traffic; More traffic = More Sales!
