The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) is celebrated every year on April 6th and presents an opportunity to acknowledge the positive impact that sports and physical activities have on communities and people's lives worldwide.
Sports have the ability to make a difference in the world; it is a fundamental right and a potent tool to enhance social ties, promote sustainable development and peace, and encourage solidarity and respect for everyone.
The global theme for the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace in 2023 is "Scoring for People and the Planet."
There are times when we need to come together in support of one another for restoration, healing and comfort. Other times, to celebrate something pure and healthful that is a conduit for happiness and peace.
April 6 marks a day to celebrate the latter.
