It's Easy!

I know some of you were expecting to read, "It's easy here at Wealthy Affiliate!"

Sorry, readers. Not this time.

On three different occasions since I've joined WA, Life as some of you say, "got in the way". Money fell too short to even get Internet much less cover the monthly fee and Jaaxy. Kids get sick, work needs overtime, computers crash, you know how it feels that fate is working against you.

...it's easy to get sidetracked.

I've finally made it to Course 2 and I'm learning that the worst thing you can do is not find this place first. In my "Unsee That" post, I mentioned how I tried many many other so-called world-class training sites before landing (and very much liking) on this one. Somewhere in the coursework, it was mentioned that before content management systems like Wordpress, people actually coded entire websites by hand.

That's right, by hand. HTML code from the first head tag to the last body tag.

I was one of those guys. Hell, I even obtained a certification in HTML 4.0 programming.

While I didn't code for marketing per se, I did code for local schools, churches, charities, real estate, etc. And before I joined here, I had a personal blog that I've been writing on for years by way of Wordpress. Needless to say, a lot of the terminology used here I was very familiar with - either by way of the failed training or the aforementioned autodidacticism.

...it's easy to try and skip ahead.

People in my position are ripe for failure because they're eager to "get to the good stuff" fast-forwarding ahead in the lessons until they get to the part that they know nothing about or the part that they thought they needed more info on.

I'm proud to say that I've stayed the path and not strayed ahead, but to my shame I have found myself stopping for days at a time because I feel bored trying to read and watch videos on what I thought I already knew. In the end it is an insult to the founders of this site and the excellent curriculum they present.

The content may seem boring because you think you know it already, but trust me, even the most minute thing can have extraordinary benefits later on. Skipping to the end then having to go back to find that minute piece of information will burn more time than it would have been for you to just stay on the path.

Friends, do whatever you have to do to keep yourself motivated. Your kids, distaste for your current job, going to Disney World, that boat, buying your wife those $450 shoes with $50 shoestrings, whatever it takes.

It's been said over and over that it will take time. Not because Google takes its sweet time to rank you. It's because you need to read every lesson and watch every video. These guys really do start you off from the beginning and run you through to the first dollar made. They're professionals.

I haven't made dollar one, but I'm looking forward to it now more than ever.

It's easy to think you already know something but -you don't know what you don't know I've been telling my staff this for years and it is sooooo true of all this stuff as well. Just one tiny detail can change the outcome just work through it one step at a time I'm curious to know how this turns out for you - good luck to you

i agree with you 100 percent. when i take the time to read things in order and watch the training videos i'm more and more impressed with kyle and carson.
