Without Vision, People Will Perish
You might have heard of the saying, "Without Vision, People Will Perish". I've heard of it a lot growing up in church. But it doesn't just apply to the church going folks, it applies to everything in life!
If you go to the grocery store without a list for example, there's a huge possibility that you will end up with way more in your basket and spending way more than you anticipated. And, I've had it happen that I even left the store without the actual items I truly came to buy in the first place.
Or for example, making a plan for a trip. If you don't make a list with what to bring or go without an agenda of what route to take, how long it will take and how many stops you think you'll have to make, you might wind up lost and in the middle of nowhere without gas, food, a bathroom and clean underwear.
Even if you do wind up in those situations, you'll always make it out one way or the other but truthfully, the time you wasted trying to fix what you weren't prepared for, could've been spent doing things you really wanted to do if you made a plan, like make that awesome 5 course meal instead of just Mac 'n Cheese or spending time on the beach relaxing in the sun instead of lost on a dirt road somewhere.
Make a plan
Making a plan doesn't take up a whole lot of time. It actually will save you time but most importantly, it will give you something to work towards. It gives you the drive to keep pushing forward.
So when you start this journey, no matter how experienced you are in all the online marketing stuff, make a plan, set a goal.
You can start with a general goal such as wanting to be financially free.
Then you want to break that down into smaller goals that will lead you to that general, bigger goal. For example, finishing a lesson a day out of each course, or finishing a Course each week, whatever is feasible to you.
The biggest thing is to set realistic smaller goals for yourself that you can accomplish and then stick to them! Each smaller completed goal fuels the fire inside of you to where you can't wait to start on the next one!
Make sure to write your full plan down. Then if it helps you, put sticky notes on your bathroom mirror, your fridge, your alarm clock, your front door, your car dash, your office, anywhere and everywhere!
Focus solemnly on the Positive
You are the one who is going to have to deal with you. Don't let anybody get to you with negativity. Get an accountability partner if that helps you, but make clear to them that negative feedback is not welcome but constructional feedback is and make sure that you can distinguish the difference between the two.
One thing Kyle told me when I was getting discouraged and stressed, was " This is not a race, do what you can, when you can". That really stuck with me. I do need to try and push myself once in a while, because checking what's going on on Facebook, can't be an excuse unless it's business related lol. But this really isn't a race. You just have to re-prioritize and reorganize your life, make up your mind on what is really important to you and what you will do to get there.
So make a plan!! You can tweak it with time but at least you will have that road map to guide you to where you truly want and need to be.
