Heard The Buzz? Plea for the Bee!
We all know how important Honey Bees are to our ecosystem. They have been in trouble for a few years, without serious help could become extinct.
We need honey, we need these bees. If you could consider being a beekeeper, we need you.
This year our beekeepers have an even harder job to accomplish.
The news says killer hornets are invading the United States. These hornets can kill a human if they sting a few times whether you are allergic or not!
They are after the Honey Bee. Not till the fall season.
Can you imagine working as hard as the bees do all season only to be decapitated in the fall and lose all your larvae?
I do, I have had the flu so long I feel sort of decapitated.
Calling all beekeepers! Make sure you wear a thick suit as the hornets can sting through a regular bee suit!
I love Honey bees, I love Honey and need it.
I Hate hornets!

I am a beekeeper. We are hoping to catch a swarm as we have to wait till the end of the month to get our nucs. Have you caught a swarm before? What do you do?
So what is going on if there are just a bunch of bees but they don't really look like they have a purpose?
I have a nuclear box full of cut comb scraps. Made a mistake and thought the stored grain sugar might be something dangerous.
We have another box further away in the back field and these bees look like they are more serious.
Thanks,
Susan
