I need to slow down
Hi everyone!
I have been working on building my online affiliate marketing business for the past 3 months.
I have created over 40 articles for my website. I created business accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. But now I feel like I'm doing too much without getting enough results.
I don't have the driving energy I had when I started, that's normal but I feel like I've put too much pressure on myself to grow organically as fast and as much as possible.
I have to keep in mind that I have a full time job, I commute 2 hours per day and I have to take care of my kids when I come back home after work. So I have very long days and I need to start taking time for myself again.
My plan is:
Instead of creating 2 or 3 blog posts per week, I will write one.
Instead of posting original content on Instagram every day, I will post my content every other day. I have 2 publications per day on Instagram, so there will always be something new even if it's not twice a day.
I'll do the same with Facebook. I used to share a lot of blog posts from Wealthy Affiliate, but I can't seem to get what I want for my page anymore. So I will use my Instagram posts for Facebook. I'll start at the beginning of my posts, so they won't be published at the same time. I don't want my social medias to be the exact same thing.
I took that decision after looking at my stats. I have the exact same number of likes when I started my Instagram account with zero followers than I have now with over 200 followers.
I haven't started my email list yet!
That's a lot of work. I need to find my inspiration again so I can create more content. I realized I spent over 4 hours creating an article for my website, and I haven't put/found the pictures yet!
Before I start stressing out about everything that needs to be done, I'm going to slow down. I took some time yesterday to find ideas for my Instagram. I got over 50 ideas. I need to create everything on Canva and schedule for months to come. It will take me a whole day to do that.
I will try to create a few extra articles during Christmas vacation, but I have other things to do even though I won't be working. I know I will start writing a couple emails in my autoresponder so I can set it up and have my Opt-In page up and running for the new year.
I also want to build a new website in another niche. I already have many articles ideas. I want to start writing about that too. But then, I know I will have to create other Facebook and Instagram account, and also create emails in my autoresponder for that niche too!
You know how in the training they talk about making videos? Yeeeaahh, that's not going to happen right now! My cup is full.
It's a lot to manage. I know I can do it. I just need to find the perfect balance and that's the hardest part for me right now.
I'll go back to creating my Instagram posts for the next month.
How do you handle everything you have to do to grow your business?
How about all the single moms? How do you handle everything?
Cheers!
Cynthia

You absolutely are burning yourself out. That's not the goal here. This is supposed to be something on the side right now, not something that takes over your life. You need to balance your work and your life. Your kids will be grown in a heartbeat and you don't want to miss that. And you don't have to either.
Instead of cranking out so much content, take a bit of your team to analyze what you are doing too, to see if there's a reason why you aren't getting the results you were hoping for. You are posting a lot, but unless the content is great, not just frequent, you may not make the sales you want.
But first, take the time to take a break. You need a grown-up time out!
I would need a real vacation!
I didn't get any this year, like a lot of people due to covid.
I'll spend more time doing fun activities with my kids :)
You will find that it gets easier as you gain experience Cynthia. The hardest part is these early stages, learning so much, setting up the website and the social media accounts etc.
You will find that gradually it all just begins to flow more easily. You just have to do what you can when you can.
Good luck
Don’t stop trust me you will get results I’ve been there before. Just be sure your targeting low competition keywords in your posts and you’ll be well on your way to success in no time when you feel like slowing down go even harder. That’s incredible that you have accomplished so much in a short period of time congratulations on that
All the best ,
Jonathon
Thank you Jonathon!
It seems like I'm getting better at choosing my keywords since my most recent posts are getting indexed much faster.
I will keep on working for sure :)
Hi Cynthia
I know it's frustrating in the beginning. How about being 82 years old and starting an online business as I have. I understand where you are coming from since I have been raising my grandson since birth who is now 16 years old.
Trying to juggle all of those things can be stressful.
However Let's look at the big picture.
I have bee with WA for just about 7 months and have six websites only 2 of which are productive since I am putting all of my efforts into them.
Starting six website at one was a HUGE MISTAKE because I wasn't giving any one of them the attention it need to be successful.
My information may be incorrect but from what I have read and been told is that Google really starts seeing your site as a real business and send heavy traffic your way after you have posted over 400 RELEVANT POSTS.
Keep the faith and remember that Kyle and Carson and guiding you correctly. The Community is also here to help you in any way we can
Wealthy Affiliate is by far the best place to learn AND profit from an online business.
Soot me a message if I can help you in any way.

Oh my goodness, you have made me want to take a nap, LOL
Definitelty take a break and gather yourself.
You are doing a great job, and there is always work to be done, but do not forget to nurture the reason you are doing all of this.
One of my favorite quotes: Don't get so busy making a living that you forget to live.
LOL. I did a post on my Instagram about having so many thing to do and ending up taking a nap!
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it.
I will take some time to live and slow down on wanting to make a living.
I have to get my focus back and my inspiration back too!
I'll make my way to success, just a bit slower than I expected :)
