How Effective Are Freesites For Your Business?
Let me tell you there are advantages to know how to program; because, if you take your business as serious as I do then you don't want to miss ANYTHING!
As some of you know I'm into a lot of different niches and growing. So that means I do A LOT of research. For both content ideas, keywords, etc, and as I do my searches, for any subject, I have a python script on my laptop that analyzes the first 20 SERP pages just recording the title, short description, and URL of each result for those 20 pages and stores it in a local database.
When I have down time I like to dig through the database for interesting insights and one of the ones I have noticed is the ranking of free sites and where they place on average.
I list the top 4 here in order and just for completeness I'll list every site my script looks for.
1. YouTube
2. Blogspot
3. Pinterest
One note of particular importance. The free sites depend a lot on how many people have sites in a particular niche on that site. For instance, my main focus is security research and that are A LOT of security researchers that have there blogs on blogspot. So when you search for security topics you're going to see a lot of blogspot sites in the SERP. Not so much in the first 3-4 pages but surely 5 and beyond. There might be a couple that are on the first or second page because the number of years they've been active and post content regularly.
So now my complete list just to be far and that you can see all the ones I track.
youtube, blogspot, pinterest, instagram, facebook, wix, 000webhost, weebly, awardspace, freehostia, hubpages, freewebhostingarea, 5gbfree, siterubix, bravenet, webfreehosting, byethost, zymic, freehostingnoads, ias3, freevirtualservers, hoophost, batcave, instafree, bladeip, freeho.st, googiehost.
Hope you enjoyed the read.
