Lost Some Weight
Today I woke up and weighed myself and was 237 lbs. I use to weigh 249 lbs. So I have lost 12 pounds in about 2 months since I began my intermittent fasting. This has been the only thing that has worked for me. It is truly amazing, I mean I have been working out as usual 5x a week and have been eating the same things.
So, I am very happy going into the weekend and being 12 pounds lighter. I would recommend intermittent fasting to anyone that needs to lose some weight. My regime is as follows, I eat during an 8 hour window and fast for 16 hours everyday. My window is from 2pm to 10pm for eating everyday and then you don't eat after that, simple and you can keep eating what you like. And this works anywhere you go, no diets or counting calories.
I'm Achieving my Goals

So many ways to control weight. I think they all work as long as the plan is followed. Good for you for sticking to your plan.

Jesus, I also do intermittent fasting & lose weight. BUT no way as much as you. GREAT JOB!!! -Jim Schupbach
Awesome, I lost abut 10 pounds with my first 3 months of walking 4 miles a day and have not lost a pound since. I am into my 4th month. I have cut back big time on calories but I think I will try this.
Thanks,
Damo
Congrats, Cybergrunt. I have read about intermittent fasting, but have not tried it. I lost weight when I went on a gluten free diet due to an automimmune thyroid problem. Carol
Congratulations!
Fasting should not be recommended for everyone, though. For example, people with diabetes need to maintain a stable blood sugar level. Periods of fasting and then eating can cause them to become hypoglycemic (when fasting) only to have their sugar rise to dangerous levels when they do eat.
Actually, as a person ages, the body becomes resistant to insulin (which is partially why a person gains weight as get older. Fasting can be a good way to help take off a few pounds, but really should be alternated with periods of regular eating (for example one week on and one week off, as is done in the Ketogenic diet.
I have to make sure that I eat on a more regular basis because I have migraines and fasting brings on attacks. There are other medical conditions which could be negatively affected by fasting.
I don't mean to discourage you. I would hate for you or anyone else to get hurt or become ill though. These are some of the reasons why people who sell diet aids or who promote diet plans always say to check with a physician before starting any diet or exercise plan. If you are going to blog about this, you also need to give the same disclaimer.
Just be careful.
Thanks. I was in the medical field and also studying to become a Physician's Assistant before I became too sick to work any longer. I don't mean to come across as negative or not supportive. I just don't want to see anyone get sued for the information they give, or worse yet, to get hurt.
