The magic of wine
What an exciting time this is! Well, for me, certainly! Made a life changing decision this year regarding where I want to live and how I want to run my business! Was really lucky to be introduced to Wealth Affiliates and the super community here!
And now, in between the courses, I’m sitting here and writing down ideas for my very own wine site, a site that will reflect all my years of experience, hard work, passion that I gained in my 20 years of importing wine into Ukraine. I am excited and yet wracked with doubts… it seems to me that 20 years ago in Ukraine this whole venture was so much easier… why, they only drank vodka and cheap sparkling wine under the ubiquitous name of Shampanskoe! I would be the one to bring in wonderful French wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Alsace… I would be the one to run around restaurants promoting these wines, organising degustations, teaching about the wonders of wine! And indeed this is what I did, and it seemed that there were no barriers and nothing to stop me!
As I look back now I think that I was young, mad and had nothing to lose!!! But am not sure if I can do this again.. start from the beginning and create something new. Something online, with access to a whole world! And where I can make money!
I start to worry, bite my nails… delete and re delete my typing from the screen.
Have a sip of wine, breathe in.. oh! inspiration comes in bursts.
I make long lists of what I am going to do starting with wine lectures, wine info, matching wine with food, wine recipes, wine travel, wine storage… and my head starts spinning… I can’t put all this on one site. Can I???
And what do I want to achieve? Do I want to lay bare all the facts about wine and reduce it to formulas and answers to everyone’s questions about wine? Do I want to just rewrite what has been written a thousand times about winemakers, wine regions, grapes? Just bust the wine myths as everyone tries to do?
NO NO NO and NO!!!
I want to keep the magic of wine going! I want to whisper magic words and ignite the sparks of interest keep the fire burning! I want to keep the romance in wine, the questions, the fascination… the magic!
“Wine is mysterious, unpredictable, perhaps ultimately unknowable.” Eric Asimov
And so, I pour myself another glass of Saperavi by Pheasant’s Tears, a beautiful animalistic red wine, made in a qvevri, a traditional method used 8000 years ago in Georgia, the cradle of winemaking, and let myself be transported back to the beginning…
And I will flow from there.

This is superb and will suggest for you to try Malbec, a delicious red wine very popular in Argentina. In my opinion better than Cabernet Sauvignon. Hector Olivera
