Build a Beautiful Website in 30 Days

Hello, WA Friends!
I just earned my 6-month badge! Yay. Thank you all for your love and support, and to Kyle and Carson for their awesome idea in building WA. This is truly a great (the only place) to be for building beautiful websites.
Now is a good time to update my progress, to write this blog I've been putting off.
On January 14, I made a goal for 30 days, to see what kind of a website I could build in that time. Thinking if 30 posts in 3 months is possible, I wondered if I could write 30 posts in 30 days. As part of my business, I keep track of my time and where I spend it, so it wasn't hard to figure out where my time went. In those 30 days, I worked 27 days. Of those 27 days, I wrote 16 blogs in 21 days, and the rest went to publishing my new ebook, building the website, and reading the lessons.
This averaged to about 4 hours a day, but some days I wrote for many long hours and others just an hour or two.

I used a free website until I was sure it was what I wanted, and then bought a domain name. Site Rubix is a great place to experiment and it doesn't cost a dime. Then, if you change your mind and don't like what you did, you are out nothing but a little time.
When I came to WA, like many of us, I was exasperated with the cyberworld of shiny objects and scams, and ready to ditch this online nonsense. As a last resort, I found WA and gave it one last chance to see if here I could build a site to market my books. Well, six months later, I'm a little bit closer to that goal, but boy, what else have I learned during this time!
One thing is for certain, bloggers and affiliate marketers give bad advice when they tell you all you need to do to get started selling online is to buy a domain name and a hosting site, and you are on your way!. For less than $20 a year, you, too, can sell your books and products online!
The nice thing about Wealthy affiliate is it takes care of all the background runnings of a site. You cannot build a site for less than $20 and get anything out of it. You get what you pay for, and obviously there is a lot more to the workings of a website than just writing a few blogs.
Sometime in the next six months, I hope to be writing a post saying that I'm starting to make money at this online marketing. I hang onto the mantra "never give up!" The words of Kyle, "people always quit right when they are starting to make progress," sticks in my brain. He should know.
In recap, here are a few things I've learned so far at WA:
1. WA is THE place to be for online marketing.
2. The community is awesome in their support, encouragement and knowlege.
3. There's a lot more to a website than just a domain name.
4. The learning curve is huge, but the time spent has been immensely worth it.
5. My biggest regret is that I didn't find WA sooner.
This pretty much sums up my first six months at Wealthy Affiliate. I wonder what the next six months will bring...
