What I didn't know I didn't know.
So far, I'm completely addicted to this! Wish I would've paid more attention to this "internet stuff" 18 years ago when I got my first awakening. Not that I didn't use the internet or know what it was. But I had no idea any of THIS was going on in the background!
Total naivety on my part. So, 18 years ago, a co-worker of mine, Donny, was feeling the internet flame in his soul. We were both working the same boring lab job (science stuff) for a big pharma company. Just a couple of numbers, that's all we were. But Donny kept nurturing that flame while I just sat there... thinking I would someday move up to management or something. He started to learn programming and writing code. Then website development - 1998 old school style writing code, not easy like we have it here at WA. He created a website like Monster.com or Careerbuilder.com specifically for people with science backgrounds to find jobs. The only time I was even remotely interested was when he actually got a company to cut him a check to advertise on it.
Whaaaat??? They gave you $2000 for that?
Who knows what ever happened to Donny. We lost touch like so many people in the corporate world do over the years. I know the site died off after a couple years, but I am ABSOLUTELY positive that Donny is a huge success somewhere. He kept at it and that flame grew into a raging fire. Man, I wish I had that back then. Where would I be today?
Well, here I am! I've got a ton of "street smarts" under my belt from dealing with the ever-changing business world and corporate environment for nearly 20 years now. But common sense has me looking deeper at my quality of life and that of my family.
I'm ready for this! WA, here I come! Finally, I'm feeling that burning desire to simply succeed at this, no matter what!
...and that is what I will do.

Yes, well, it is never too late to start. I can't wait to hear about your story of Louise the Wolfhound. Beautiful big dogs. I went to a place in North Wales called Beddgelert. U.K. There is a bronze figure of a Wolfhound called Gelert and a very sad story that goes with this faithful dog. Google it and let me know what you think.
