Get your mind back in the game!
After stepping away for nearly 6 months, I decided it is time to get back in the game! My "real" job took off in a whole new direction and distracted me from WA training and building content on my sites. I remember the good old days when I was ranked in the low hundreds...
Well, I just renewed WA for another year so time to get my mind back into it and focus on the end goal. Sometimes life speeds up and goes by so fast. The last year since I joined WA seems like a blur. Work really picked up, plus I'm getting older, so time is flying by. Luckily advances in medicine are also coming faster, so I expect to live another 60 years at least (well over 100!!!). That is, if the robots and AI don't kill us first.
Anyway..........
Stepping away from anything you were dedicated to is not a bad thing. It simply means something else has taken priority in your life. Eventually things catch up to you again, or you get a subtle reminder of why you signed up for WA in the first place, and you decide it's time to go back and start working at it again.
For me, I am getting comfortable with my new responsibilities at work which leaves my brain open to create and explore other things. WA training actually helps me on my job too. One of my responsibilities is to market our company, products, people, and events. So, in addition to getting my websites going again, blogging away, creating content, it warms me up for my real world job doing the same thing. To this day, I haven't done that great at the marketing thing as we have very little budget and there were more steamy priorities. Now that things are lining up better on that front, I can put more time into marketing, blogging, newsletters, etc.
WA also helps me to become a better person to my family and friends, employees and coworkers, and customers and strangers. When you see such a HUGE community of people, all helping each other, it is truly an amazing thing. That alone was reason enough for me to renew another year. Just to get that feeling again. I've written in a previous post how the "real world" corporate world, with offices and cubicles, doesn't breed this kind of people. You'd think it would since there is physical interaction. But ego's, narcissism, and personal gain seem to creep in and destroy any bonds. It's amazing that a community like WA can create thousands of strong, positive bonds between people who have never met and probably never will. I guess it is in part due to the fact that, in the affiliate marketing arena, we realize every day that there are over 7 billion people on this planet and not just the 20-50 in an office building. Open minds - that's what WA helps to develop.
So, as long as you don't give up completely on something like WA, it is ok to take breaks. Just keep WA in the back of your mind while you are "away" and remember the potential it truly brings. Potential for healthy relationships, more freedom, flexibility, passive income, and a creative, free lifestyle. Working with wonderful, truly caring people in this community. Feeding and strengthening each other through generosity and the willingness to help others. These are the attractive qualities that first drew me to WA. Now they are back in the front of my mind.
