Week 4 Done

Traffic to my site and impressions are still increasing, only in small numbers but it's progress. I haven't figured out how to decipher the analytics yet but I think it's from social media backlinks. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I found myself doing three self-defeating things this week:

  1. Getting very impatient to see faster progress - even though I started this with the long game in mind, not for quick wins.
  2. Rehashing the site hierarchy and looking back at earlier articles and wanting to rewrite them.
  3. Continually checking Google Search Console for indexing. Then I found this vlog from Eric and breathed a sigh of relief. 😝
    https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/ericcantu/blog/why-i-dont-worry-about-indexing-and-why-you-shouldnt-either

So I've given myself a good talking to and will be back to slow and steady next week.

Have a good one everyone!

Christine

Great to hear Chris that you have re-assessed your thinking patters, particularly with Patience and knowing this is not a fast game but one that requires a steady focus and taking one step at a time.

Eric has shared lots of Wisdom in his teachings and certainly slow and steady will be the way to go. The more we rush the more the opportunity to miss or forget certain parts that make up the whole picture we aim to create.

Wishing you a wonderful and productive week ahead.

Hello Chris,

Being impatient with a new website is quite normal. I usually check my analytics once per week, and the rest of the week focus on writing.

Experiencing small progress at first is normal, so don't second guess yourself. Sometimes we overthink the process, but if you follow the steps everything will fall in place.

Depending on your niche and audience, it usually takes close to 50 posts before you begin to see real progress.

Most of us have done this at one stage - so you're definitely not alone. But you've caught yourself and can now move steadily forward. Remember - a watched pot never boils...

Have a great weekend and all the best for Week 5.
