We all want our content seen! Our website is our baby and we can quickly find ourselves obsessing over indexing times. Let me show you what you already know about this obsession and why your time is so much better spent creating instead of checking in on GSC 10 times a day.

In this tutorial, I’ll walk you through:

✅ Why this is something completely out of control
✅ Why consistency in publishing is what actually moves the needle
✅ How to make Google actually take notice

Now it’s your turn! 👇🏻

💥 Have you found yourself obsessed with your indexing?
💥 Be honest, how often and how quickly are you checking to see if your recent post got indexed?

Hi Eric,

I have got a bit fed up with Google Search Console, because sometimes it says fail against the posts but I noticed that GSC searches the robots.txt to your website daily, so now I don't bother with wasting time in GSC and just continue to do other things.

Your posts and pages will hopefully be indexed the next time GSC searches your robots.txt file and crawls your website.

Regards

Brian

Yeah, GSC (and every tool for that matter) is an asset for productivity until it keeps you from the things that are actually important (like creating content). And way too many people don’t see that no matter how much you tell them.

This is so true, Eric. I have fallen into this trap before, and it is a bad habit to get into.

If we are on a particular strategy of creating content, I believe we should give that enough time to have an impact. Only then check and either stay on the same course or pivot.

Constant checking of the stats makes us vulnerable to chopping and changing our strategy, before it has had time to work. This is always a bad thing.

Thanks for another great reminder.

Well said 👍🏼

Im obsessed with Traffic. So im obsessed with getting indexed, sending emails, building backlinks and creating social media footprints.

However, I fully agree that you don't need to over-worry about indexing.

However, for those smaller blogs and businesses that want to get going super fast, spending some time on indexing can definitely boost some traffic.

While content is king in the long run. I love indexing and think you should too! :)

Possibly a bad hobby but it works for me.
Cheers and great post @EricCantu

We all want our content to be indexed, but we have no control over it after we’ve hit publish.

Creating more content is the most direct line to getting indexed regularly, so put your efforts where they matter the most 👍🏼

Def Agree!

Cheers mate!

I am not obsessed with indexing now, because maybe I am not sure it will be indexed. At one point, I was a bit obsessed, but I did not check it all the time. Sure, I want my posts indexed, but no point in worrying too much. Either way, I think it will become naturally anyway. :)

Keep your focus on creating content and making it better. The rest all falls into place 👍🏼

You're right about changing our habits which may create more concerns.
I thought we had some input on our link indexing on google according to adding more content. Adding posts do help our site rank more online though.
What I wonder is: Is there any uncommon reason on why our website may not rank on chatgpt?

1

Do you mean why our website wouldn't rank on Google?

yes.

There's a million reasons for that. The key is consistently creating quality content that can find your audience, not just on Google, but on YouTube, etc. 👍🏼
