Media Library Tips
Hello again,
The goal of this blog is to help you with the Media Library area of your website.
So you’ve gotten started with Wealthy Affiliate which means you’re on your way to making your life as a business owner a huge success!
I want to give you some pointers that helped me keep things flowing and time-effective, specifically, your Media Library photographs, images, audio, and videos.
WHERE CAN I FIND THE MEDIA LIBRARY IN WORDPRESS?
Your Media Library tab is located on the Dashboard of your Word Press site. If you have multiple websites, the Media Library is on each of them individually.
You’re going to use Media on your websites without question. Media is a great attention getter and can be used to accentuate your content and emphasize points you want to make your audiences aware of (e.g., Banners are prime examples of graphics that we either love or hate; but they do get your attention regardless of how you might feel about them).
It can be a time-waster to have to go back and search your computer or the Internet for media you want to use.
MEDIA LIBRARY SUGGESTIONS
Here are some suggestions for getting your Media Library set up:
- For each website, search for, upload, drag and drop, or copy/paste media you want to use into “Add New Media” (on your Dashboard).
- Media Library is very easy to use, so if you’re new at all of this like many are, rest assured this task is going to be easy and can be fun.
- Uploading media can take time, so allow yourself time to select media that will be attention-getting and fits in with your content.
- Think long-term about your content and collect media that you can go back to for future content.
- Categorize your Media Library by type and/or date.
WHERE CAN I FIND FREE PHOTOS BESIDES ON MY OWN COMPUTER?
Many people are great with media. They can film and photograph with a great finished product. If you’re fortunate enough to know someone like that, great! Utilize their expertise.
I keep a media library on my PC but also have an External Drive. External Drives are awesome because they are so compact and hold a ton of files.
Check out www.morguefile.com.They have photos that you can purchase, but the free ones are huge in number on a wide variety of topics. You could literally spend hours just searching for photos but that’s not a good use of your time.
Go to WA’s Discussion Board or Live Chat. Ask others how they get their media library files. Wealthy Affiliate is a very supportive and helpful community.
It’s also a good idea to periodically check the content of your Media. You may want to revamp your Library by adding to or subtracting from what is there so you don’t exceed your maximum space allowed and so that you keep your media fresh and current.
TIME MANAGEMENT
Remember, you’re learning a lot and time management is really important. If you use the suggestions I’ve offered for getting your Media Library set up, you’ll have one less task to perform to get your site up and running.
Media files are going to correspond with your content so manage your time well and get that Media Library set up immediately!
I hope this helps. It’s one of the working-smarter-not-harder tasks I discovered right away.
