Why use Site Feedback?

I noticed something today, and maybe you have noticed this same thing at some point.

Wealthy Affiliate Site Feedback

As part of the community here, we are asked to provide our WA friends with feedback on their website(s). This is both a wonderful training requirement, and a useful improvement tool when both the assessor and the content writer take to heart what is being reviewed and what is the basis of any consequential comment.

The purpose of providing feedback is to help our friendly neighbor affiliate improve their website.

This may be a suggestion on layout, information, presentation, use of images or videos, etc. It's something that catches YOUR eye, that the writer may have missed, forgotten to add, or forgotten to edit. Maybe you see an opportunity for additional detail or design.

What I noticed, is that people are leaving comments such as "I like your content. I learned a lot." Or, "Looks great so far. I wish you the best as you continue to build!" Both GREAT comments, but not at all constructive!

Compliments are wonderful, and we ALL need positive affirmation to push forward, but if we don't leave an actual suggestion to consider, are we really helping?

Let's turn the wheel...

The POWER of Constructive Criticism

If you are the writer receiving the feedback, wouldn't you like to receive some feedback that you can implement? Wouldn't you love a suggestion that you can immediately put to use?

As an example, let's say we visit a webpage and the content is right on cue, but the page layout doesn't quite make sense. Maybe it's not as "user-friendly" as it could be for a guest.

While a feedback comment such as "This site isn't very user-friendly" is at least pointing the writer in the direction you mean to send them, a more useful feedback comment might contain an example of how to make it more user-friendly. For instance, "I think this website could be more user-friendly if you add a top navigation bar."

One suggestion for all affiliate members, is to absolutely make use of the 'Spellcheck' tool that is provided in the editor. It not only looks for spelling errors, but also checks for correct grammar and punctuation. It saves a LOT of time, and prevents your published article from looking "unedited."

Yes, you want to get your content out there quickly. Yes, you want to receive feedback to move forward. But you want that feedback to be more useful than "You doubled up a word on paragraph three," or "You need a question mark after line six." Right?

The Road to Success is always under Construction!

Hopefully this post helps us think about how to provide and use Site Feedback. We are all here to learn, create, and monetize. If we offer true worth, we may receive true wealth!

One of my favorite phrases has always been "Don't recreate the wheel." This is exactly why we are united in this community, isn't it? I live by that phrase! Utilize the tools that are provided: training pages, and training AFFILIATES!

Take care, Neighbors,

Cris

Couldn't agree more. Thanks for sharing.

When I give feedback I always give at least one thing that is critical. If there is nothing wrong with the site that needs an immediate update, I will always provide recommendations for improvement. I hate people who just give those bland comments as it isn't really feedback.

Yes! There is always room for improvement, in all things. Thank you so much for your time and comment!

Thank you for bringing this topic to light!

Hi Cris,
This is a good subject to bring with all the attention on "Comments".

A lot of us can't see the "forest from the trees" so a constructive criticism remark is a great help.

For example, a while ago my website background was a light sky blue, I thought it was appropriate for an aviation theme.

But a kind WA Member suggested it would be better if I used a white background.

The more I looked at white, the better I liked it. I then used some light blue on the trim. This way the site was improved in two ways.

Thanks for sharing.
