My Journey so far through Wealthy Affilliate
After retiring in October of 2015 I decided to look for a way to earn a little extra money on line. Like everyone else I found a lot of on line scams that wanted money right up front, some of them wanted a lot of money. I had about given up on the idea of earning money via the internet.
Then somehow, it had to be divine intervention, I ended up on the Wealthy Affiliate website. The first thing that caught my eye was that you could join for free. Not only was it free but they were going to teach me how to build a website that would generate an income.I thought, how great is that!
When I joined WA I knew nothing about building a website.Lesson one was picking a "niche."I didn't even know what a "niche." was or how to go about finding one.I finally decided my niche would be Survival Preparedness 101. I have been a "Prepper" most of my life. With all that is happening in the world today I thought maybe I could help others get prepared for what life or mother nature might throw their way.
Finding a niche was just the beginning of learning what it takes to create a website. The training is really great. There isn't any pressure, you learn at your own pace.Learning how to add a Gravatar was a bit of a challenge for me. Ok, it was a big challenge but I got through it. Setting up Google + , made it through that lesson also.
I'm starting level 3. I'm a little behind where I thought I'd be at this time. Shortly after I started level 1training my mom, she's 92, called and needed my help.I went to stay with her for 4 months and since she didn't have internet I couldn't do much at WA. But I really enjoyed my time with her.
When I got home I jumped right back into learning how to build a website. The journey has been great! What has made it so great is the community support. That support is what got me through Gravatar, Google + and other challenging lessons. When I asked for help and stated I was discouraged the community buoyed me up and kept me going. My thanks to all of you.
I'm excited to start the next phase of learning and continue being a part of the WA community.
