Discontinued Items

I made a post on my website featuring a certain product that I found on amazon and now the item has been discontinued on amazon. I researched to find a similar product but can’t seem to find one. I made a notation on my post that the item was out of stock and to please check back later but now I have discovered the item is discontinued. I now have a post that I guess is dead. I don’t think I can delete a post that is already placed in the google search engine. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am not sure what to do. All help is appreciated. Thanks. Michael Cox.

If you can't find the item and get a new affiliate program for it, you should just edit it to say that unfortunately, the item is discontinued and suggest your visitor check out some of your other reviews and give links to some of them. All you can say is you are sorry - it is not your fault the item is not available.

Great idea. There are other products similar. I will just have to explain what happened. Other posts I read today ( the competition) just marked the item not available and left the post as is but I think an explanation is in order. Thanks for the advice. Really helpful. Michael.

I often have a link to Amazon and at least one other vendor for my product review posts. Can you find another reseller of the item? They are likely to have an affiliate program. You can then edit your post to replace the Amazon link with the link to the new reseller.

Yes I tried that also. I have affiliates in share a sale also. I even tried Walmart and no luck. Thanks for the suggestion. Michael
