Did you know renowned theoretical physicist, cosmologist and author Stephen Hawking allegedly has an alter ego?

That's right, the Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology at the University of Cambridge is also known as Rapper MC Hawking!

According to confidential sources, Hawking's rapper alter ego and impressive catalog of rap music were created by Ken Lawrence, an American web developer.

The backbeats are created by DJ Doomsday (also Lawrence), combining "hip hop tracks, loop libraries, live performances, and midi compositions."

The rap lyrics combine gangsta rap, science, and actual Hawking quotes.

Stephen Hawking has responded in a gracious way, saying he is "flattered, as it's a modern-day equivalent to Spitting Image." (probably a reference to the British satirical puppet show)

What a great sport! He even allows his image to be used.

Lawrence, in turn, thanked Hawking "for taking this joke in the spirit in which it was intended."

Satire is popular, and would be worthy of selection for a niche.
