My injured foot!
Well 2020 is starting off with a bang. Only 15 days into January and I am going to be laid up for a while.
I had a torn peroneal tendon in my left foot, which required surgery to repair. I was lucky enough to have the best Orthopedic surgeon in Saskatchewan repair my foot. Dr. H Rees repaired my tendon 2 days ago. He has the best bed side manner of any Dr. I have ever met. He is the kind of Dr. that when he is talking to you, he just makes you feel at ease. All the stress and worries that I had were washed away.
Even though I had to have surgery, I felt like I was completely taken care by him and his wonderful receptionist Lori-Ann. They got me in super quick considering our health care system can be a tad on the slow side.
I am currently in a 3 sided cast with no weight bearing at all. Of course anyone that has had to be on crutches knows, they basically suck. It is extremely difficult to get around and a complete pain in the butt.
I am hoping when I see him next week that I will be getting a full cast that will allow me to at least put some weight on it.
Although my year isn't starting off great, there is of course some silver lining to the whole situation. Of course I get to avoid going outside in the current -40 degree C temperature. No one wants to be out in that weather.
The other big positive is that I get to spend tons more time building my website up for the next few months. So folks I am going to be around a lot more. HAHA!
No matter what happens in life, there is always a way to look at it positively. Here's to 2020 and what lies ahead!!
