Best smartphone apps - your help needed!

I'm looking to compile a list of the best smartphone apps for use with a mailer - Android, iOS, BB, Windows phone, anything at all, and I'm looking for your help please.

Can anybody suggest any? I've got the obvious, most popular ones down but they are not something I use much so am looking for a bit of inspiration. There are lists out there but I'm trying not to copy if possible.

It doesn't matter what type, anything will do but preferably apps that you have tried and found useful.

I have used a blog rather than a discussion as discussions tend to drop down the page quickly.

Thanks in advance.

Some interesting stuff there Josh!

Thanks all, very much appreciated.

Non specific apps that will probably have different ones depending on where you are......I use my local isp app to keep track of data usage etc. I am sure many isps have them. A banking app for online banking. Very handy indeed. I guess it would depend on the bank. Trademe app for the local NZ version of ebay.

Specific apps - "Documents to go" I find very useful for all sorts of things, Pdfs etc I borrow online books from the local library too and use "Overdrive media" for them. "Sketch free" is great for keeping the wee one occupied for a while, very basic but easy to use drawing app. "Symbaloo" app, get all your bookmarks in one place.
Twitter of course, though I would like to find a better app for this really. ( be nice to see if you have some recommendations for this )

"crossword solver" does anagrams, fills in the words for the letters you have etc etc, pretty useful if you like crosswords.

Remember the milk - nice little app if only I could remember to use it.

Parallel Mafia and Parallel Kingdoms - you expand your territory by building either fronts for your criminal empire or flags marking an area you control. Join up with clans or mafias for group help wars etc. Pretty social if you want it to be, time consuming if you want it to be too. The very interesting thing is that the map they use is your actual area. You will start with your base as close to where you are geographically located as possible. I control my town and the next one over, though I prefer WA these days :)

Two favorites: Evernote and Mail.

Evernote has lots of functions, but I use it mainly for notes and lists. I have the app on my pc as well, so it sync's the info between the two. The Mail program is for gmail email addresses only. It is the best program I have seen for one gmail account (cannot add another yet). It always works, which the regular app on my iPhone does not.

iDashboard, iA Writer,

I'm a HUGE fan of iA Writer, sync'd with Dropbox. :) R.

Candy Crush is the #1 download in the games department (or so I have read). All my kids and grandkids play it. I do not. I use speed test to check upload and download speed when I am on the go. Audible if you like to listen to books on your phone. Fandango for purchasing movie tickets. 'Find my car' when I shop at a large mall and do not want to embarrass myself having the mall security drive around looking for my car.Localicious to find thing that are near you, from restaurants to Office Depot. Pandora for listening to music.Phit Droid a mentally stimulating game.Textfree, so I do not have to pay for texts. By no mean was that grammatically correct!

Thank you, very much appreciated

I'm not going to be much help. All I really have is a spongbob app, and rich dad app. Yeah, I have some games I don't play, and a flashlight app, but neither of those would be the "best" apps I use.

Not at all. In fact a lot of people use their phones for games and I didn't even know there was a flashlight app, it sounds as though it might be useful to some people :)

I'm a fan of Wordflex http://d.pr/7Mwj (formerly TWIG) on iOS. I often recommend cross platform apps such as Wunderlist http://www.wunderlist.com Droplr http://www.droplr.com Dropbox http://www.dropbox.com etc. Rich.

Thanks Rich. i think dropbox is about the only one I ever use!
