Do I choose the country I am born In or the Country I am currently living in?
Unless it is a niche specifically targeted in one country, then getting a .com domain is best. It opens it up to a bigger audience (and thereby bigger earnings)
At checkout, select the third option, 'credits'; you can click on that tab. (One .com domain equals 32 credits.)

However, starting with a siterubix subdomain may be better until you are happy with your niche and name, as you cannot edit the URL of a premium domain name once purchased. And if you happen to have made a mistake.
A .com domain name is the best.
I would always go for a dot com domain name vs. dot net or dot org as people's perceptions when they start typing they would typically assume it is a dot com. And make sure it is spelled correctly, as it cannot be edited once purchased.

Country-specific domains only show in local search aim for a .com domain to avoid peeing into the wind.
Great answer, just an add-in question if you could answer it. Does Google rank a country-specific domain extension higher than a .com?
Lower unless the person adds a local query to their search like bed and breakfast Paris France
