Hope and Great Thoughts for 2019

For me personally, the proverbial sun has not yet risen on 2019; this is probably the first time that I could not muster the energy or enthusiasm to entertain New Year Celebrations.

The ravages of the flu confined me to my bed from about 8pm old years night; despite the sound of fireworks from a neighborhood luxury villa less than 400 yards away; I had no desire to even take a one minute peep.

A dinner engagement with our close NY friends had to be cancelled.

The world news offered no comfort, as suffering, corruption, disasters and world upheavals crossed from one year to the other.

The Tourist season on Paradise looked promising, but alas only for the food and beverage businesses and another I would not dear to mention, because of some unfortunate tragedies. There are tourists on the Island but seen mainly on the beautiful beaches and in supermarkets.

My energies are still focused on launching my Art Exhibition, to celebrate my 75th birthday in the month of February.

This may sound like Gloom and Doom; but I am hopeful that the Thinking and watchful people of this earth will turn back the clock, and make this earth and its people more beautiful and happier than ever.

Wishing all a happy, rich and healthy 2019.

Having endured similar nearly a month ago, I can only say that my thoughts are with you, Courtney.

The lack of energy, an overall ill state 24/7 is so frustrating...but this too shall pass. We here in Minnesota have found even after the initial course, sore throat and sinus problems continue on.

It does seem these flu strains have become more resilient to treatment.

...From the replies you've posted though it appears you are on the mend and willing to stretch your work schedule.

Wishing the sales fall your way and the creative surge leads to new imagining.

Warmly,

David R

Hi Courtney, good to hear from you again!
Sorry to hear you were too sick to enjoy the celebrations...I guess I was too busy to really notice the New Year too much, had to work my day job on the first day, but oh well, holiday pay is good!

Anyways, I hope you're feeling better by now, my friend. It's a new year, and new opportunities will arise in their good time if we look for them. I didn't know your birthday is in February, that's awesome! Both my dad's and my daughters birthdays are in February too!

May this year bring you good things for your 75th birthday and an amazingly successful Art Exhibition! I'm sure it'll be an awesome time for you, keep that creativity going! 🎉🎈🎨

Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Hi Courtney good to see you, hope that you are on the mend.

Best wishes for your upcoming exhibition, you will be getting excited.

All the best for a creative and successful year in 2019.

Alex.

Happy to say the flu is over, I am always excited to be creating. My work schedule is crazy,630am to 9am in the studio and 10am to 6pm in the studio, unless my wife gives me a day off from the gallery.
wish you success and happiness in 219 Alex

Many of us started the New Year just as you. I could hear the fireworks in a far off place from my bed but I'm sure they were very close. I was 1/2 in medicated dream land.

However, I believe that 2019 holds great promise and refuse to live with any other belief. Sometimes joy is what YOU make it no matter what is going on around you.

We can only live our lives but with all your previous blogs, you have brought joy to us. So, cheer up, look up and keep going. You have a birthday to celebrate.

BTW, you had dinner plans with someone from NY as in New York, USA?

~Debbi

Yes NY USA, a great family and great friends who were on the Island for the holidays.
I am trying to live one day at a time but the world can be a challenging place if you care.My greatest Joy is in my studio, that's why I stuck with it for the past 50 years.

Have a Blessed New Year.

I'm originally from NY and when I get to the island, I'm looking up your gallery!

You have a blessed year as well.

Welcome to the new year Courtney. I hope 2019 brings you great sea breezes and much fortune!

Thanks Mike, I am hoping; The sea breezes are always there, I feel them every day, sometimes a little too cold at nights this time a year. I think climate change can be a reason.
All the best fr 2019.
