How Is 2018 Shaping Up For You So Far?

While the last two to three years have not gone to plan due to ongoing football (soccer) commitments, I am still involved in Internet Marketing in the limited time that I have.

If you haven't made any money at all so far, here is my advice to you in 2018:

BE PATIENT

Remember that making any money online is a long haul journey. On my travels online, I notice that too many people are looking for instant success. That is a recipe for disaster.

Do remember that Rome wasn't built in one day. So you really need to give this time before you start having any real success.

DO TAKE ACTION ON WHAT YOU LEARN

As you go through the training at Wealthy Affiliate, implement everything you learn. You will notice that there is a heavy focus on creating content.

The thing is somebody who trusts what you write will keep coming back to read your content. In time this could lead to sales. It does take time to build trust. So it is essential that you focus on producing quality content not necessarily on reaching the no.1 spot in Google.

FOCUS ON HELPING RATHER SELLING

What I have learnt through the training received at Wealthy Affiliate is that just throwing links around in the hope that somebody somewhere will buy from you does not achieve long term results.

Research your niche. Go to social media sites, forums and wherever people hang out. Find out what people are talking about. If you identify a problem that needs fixing then find the solution and share it.

Now this will not necessarily lead to sales (in the short term) but it will give you visibility within your peer group. If the solution you provide is a good one then people are likely going to start looking out for you and the content you produce. I call that attraction marketing.

HAVE I HAD ANY TANGIBLE RESULTS RECENTLY?

I have been focusing on lead generation through list building for the last 3 months. And I am beginning to see results with people joining my lists. List building remains my priority for 2018.

Right here at Wealthy Affiliate, there are people joining from my affiliate links all the time. As I write this post, I have had two sign ups this week.

Towards the beginning of the year, one of my referrals took the 1 month upgrade. I earned commission.

I joined two affiliate programs very recently and within days, I had earned $30 from them.

Why I am sharing these results with you?

To brag? No. The intention is to show you that it is possible to generate an income online even as a beginner.

So Carpe Diem (seize the moment) and keep the faith. Get cracking with the training and keep building your business.
