The Catherine about purchasing expired and abandoned domain names had me thinking. Yep! That is most certainly a dangerous thing for me! Catherine has been kind enough to share a list occasionally of domain names that have had owners before but are now up for grabs. There have been some pretty great names on those lists.
My daughter and I are working on a couple of projects
together within WA. So I was on line last night looking around and searching for domain names for this new venture.
It is one that will require a DBA, EIN, and all of the other hoops and hurdles of starting a business.
We're pretty excited about it, but will tell more in another post as it is finalized.
Anyway, I was looking about how to purchase abandoned domain names and this amazing article showed up on the list of resources. The Catherine's article in WA was awesome when it came out and I've wanted to know more about buying and selling domain names.
I'm into real estate. Who knew that on-line real estate (domain names) could be bought and sold?! I seem to be the last to know.
So, being the inquisitive person I am, I squirreled a bit
- our wonderful Heidi has taught me how! - and I clicked on the link of this oh so interesting looking article.
Son of a gun! It was the very awesome article by WA's very own, The Catherine. I'm not sure she know this.
And it was still amazing and inspirational.
And yes, I still want to know more about this element of on-line entrepreneurialship (is that a word?).
But here's the surprise! I'm such a rookie that it didn't even DAWN on me that what we write within the wonderful world of WA - these posts - could be accessed OUTSIDE of the wonderful world of WA. It was like the clouds opened. I don't know why that hadn't occurred to me before!
But it was such an epiphany that I figured I probably wasn't the only person who was not aware of this (ok, I probably am the only person who hadn't figured that out,!)

Great info here. I had always believed that only those who are members of WA can access posts within WA. And if an internal URL was clicked one had to join WA before being able to see it.

It is nice of you to share for others to know that our blog
posts here inside WA are visible to the outside world.
Google can access them and yes they can be ranked!
Not such a bad deal considering some of the posts
shared inside WA can help others in the outside world
not just the members here.

Thank you Christine, just snowed under for the amount of work I pile on myself like we all do. ;) I believe we were writing at cross purposes I was looking for the links to the interesting articles you had come across. Never mind as I am well aware that both online real estate and the amazing sums being fetched ; and recently found out too that every word ever written eventually finds its way out. Good thing to be aware of and heed, as you would be amazed at what is contained within my private mail certainly a mixture of the good, the bad and the downright ugly lols. in my brief time here!. ;)
