Goal Setting
Goals give you a meaning and a purpose, a clear sense of direction. As you move toward your goal you feel happier, stronger. You feel more energized, effective. You feel more competent and confident in yourself and your abilities. Every step you take toward your goals increase your belief that you can set and achieve even bigger goals in the future.

More people today fear change and worry about their future than any other time in history. One of the great benefits of goal setting is that goals enable you to control the direction of change in your life. Goals enable you to ensure that the changes in your life are largely self-determined and self-directed. Goals enable you to instill meaning and purpose into everything you do.

Here are some great questions to ask yourself:
What are your goals?
What purposes are you aiming at?
Where do you want to end up at the end of the day?
How would you like your life to be in 5 years and in 10 years from now?
Things are changing in my life again and I'm needing to set different goals for myself. The goals I had five years ago are not the goals I need now. Time to set them again!

I believe you are right Cindy.Not only do people fear change,but normally they try to resist change.with set goals and targets to meet then you are guarded both sides so that you do not go astray.
And I believe you are right also, they do resist change, they go with the flow (because it is easier) instead of setting goals and targets to meet for themselves.
