Laughing

As I was strolling through the shopping mall with my children, I over heard 2 teens talking about some outfit they we're excited over. One teen was like "Oh girl, those shoes, ON FLEEK! ON FLEEK" I nearly choked on my chewing gum! The teens heads snapped around to look at me, in my full fledged, unflattering hyena giggling. It was the most ridiculous made-up "trendy" term I've heard in long time. My children staring at me, the teen girls glaring as they walked away, I managed to pull myself together and push on with my day. I came to realize how different I felt after such laughing fit. Any stress I was suffering in that moment melted away with a huge surge of much needed endorphins! Laughing is necessary, even if you're the only one doing it. All I know is, after laughing my day was great! I was able to look at stressful things with more optimism and ultimately solving said stresses. I need to laugh more often! :-)

I had to look that up in the urban dictionary. It's made from 'fly' and 'sleek', which I will have to look up too since I have no idea what they mean either. I've found that what really irritates teens and tweens is when you actually know their secret language and use it back at them. :)

I am so into laughter. It makes my life and my relationships so wonderful. It's mostly laughter at my self. I do that all the time.

Laughter and tears two great natural healing remedies.A merry heart does good like a medicine.

As we build our businesses we always want to remember this because we can help people absorb our content by how we present it. If we use some humor we can help relief stress, and better connect with our audience.

Corrie,

I was just talking to my wife about these kids new terms. Now mind you I'm 80-90s hip hop guy. So I know we had our fair share of slang that probably sounds crazy. But usually they were short for real words or referenced something that was similar.

But this "on fleek" and "turnt up" stuff drives me crazy. I purposely use it in conversation with my wife to annoy her. lol

But I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks it sounds stupid. LOL

lol I am a 90's kid so I grew up with terms like "take a chill pill!" which after a certain point became annoying but at least it was literate ;-)

Please pardon my ignorance, but what does that mean On Fleek! if anything? I am still trying to learn the language of the younger generation.

LOL I am learning too Dusty! I managed to find the definition of the term on Urban Dictionary. "On Fleek" is synonymous with "On Point" meaning exact or perfect. :-D

Whatever happened to "cool" or Awesome oh! well to each his own. thanks Corrie have a blessed day.
