A Birthday Celebration in New Orleans During Barkus
A friend went to celebrate her birthday in New Orleans this February, during the Barkus celebration.
The only Mardi Gras krewe in New Orleans for the canine population. Founded in 1993, the Mystic Krewe of Barkus is a non-profit organization. The Mystic Krewe of Barkus was envisioned and created in November 1992 at a meeting of the Margaret Orr (WDSU-TV Weather Anchor) Fan Club held at Good Friends Bar. Thomas Wood brought his dog Jo Jo McWood to the meeting, where people complained about her neurotic ways. To get back at them all, Wood decided to make Jo Jo McWood queen of her parade and captain-for-life. Thus, the Krewe of Barkus was born.
Krewe is an organization or association that stages a parade or other events for a carnival celebration. Krewes are associated especially with Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

They flew into New Orleans, on Saturday February 15th, it was 68 degrees and sunny at the airport the celebration starts with Live music at the airport, they said that the singer could not
Sing.
On Sunday, February 16, 2020, they wanted to see the parade at 1PM but it was pouring rain.
It was time for a cocktail, they called these Mimosas for the table. Bottle of champagne and a carafe of OJ., they drank it all, those were some liquored up folk.
Back to the French quarter for shopping specifically, pralines, but they also needed beignets and chicory coffee.
A visit to café DuMonde

A visit to Clancyâs for a Birthday Dinner
Clancy's is a restaurant in New Orleans, Louisiana that specializes in serving elegant Creole classic cuisine. The restaurant features casual dining in a homey atmosphere. Clancy's serves dinner six days a week and offers a variety of appetizers, salads and entrées for diners to choose from.

Just walk down any random street in the French Quarter and you will find a scene like this âtractorsâ
After all the excitement of the day, Dinner Deviled eggs with remoulade sauce (appetizer), Lobster risotto, Chocolate brownie pie with vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate sauce, the other members had roasted chicken with roasted vegetables for their entrée.
They were dancing to banjo music at the hotel they were dancing in the hallway of the hotel to Cajun music and they did the waltz, there was a two-piece Cajun band, fiddle, accordion and then they switched to guitar and banjo.
The report was that this was a grandioso venture in the what is known as 'The Big Easy'
yes I know Grandioso is defined as a musical term indicating that the piece should be played in a grand and noble style. 'UNTIL NEXT TIME'
